Thursday morning greetings!

It's going to be 60 degrees today in my neck of the woods.....which I don't mind at all.

Here, too, so Rob and I just took advantage and put up the outside Christmas decorations.  We were going to do it last Thursday, but it was too, too cold.

This evening my family is taking me for a night-before birthday dinner at the new Cheesecake Factory that has opened dangerously close to our home.

Ive found my Appalachian Carols score and I still have to drag out theGOLDEN APPLE vocal core.

So, last night's Fiddler was fun.  It made the last week seem like it didn't happen.  Larry Blank's accordion part for the 2007 London Production is a train wreck.  60% of it is the piano conductor score and the rest is right out of the original part - which I have played before.  It's taken me a week trying to figure out what to play from the p/c score, which of course is impossible to play as written on the accordion.  I think I've figured it out and have resigned to being able to play what I can.  I have a feeling the part was meant to be played on a synth, where the original was definitely written for an accordion.

But whatever.... it is what it is.

A sample of what I saw through the telescope last night.  Our visual view was a bit blurry.

I don't see how a "mature" 17 year-old could understand any of the subtext/implications of these songs.

Yes, that's always the tightrope - I like to give great material to kids, but it has to work for them - when someone suggested The Worst Pies in London, that made me laugh right away and I think I'll give that to little eleven-year-old Hadley - that, to me, is a funny and interesting idea.

Oh, DR Ginny, I am sorry to hear that.  There should be laws about this kind of thing, and they should be strictly enforced.  These awful people should be required to post signs warning the gentry about the proximity of their establishment.  Please, be careful.

Is anyone planning to watch the live stream of Daddy Long Legs tonight?

I wish I could, but I know that I'll still be at work dealing with the end of the fiscal year stuff. :P
