Lying down in bed is simply not an option at the moment ... 60 degrees is about as close as I can get.

60 degrees?  No wonder you have a cold.  Try turning up the heat.

I nearly bought one of those frozen fruit into sherbet thingies at Costco on the 26th.  I remembered Jennifer loved  hers... I wonder if she still uses it

Do you need special equiptment, rock salt and grinders and such or is there an eSy way to do it?

I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker. You put the inside thingy in the freezer for a day or whatever to make it freeze, then you mix up the ice cream mix from the recipe that comes with it, and then you pour it in the bowl thingy, put that on the base, plug it in and turn it on.  about 15 minutes later....ice cream

I am not the one living in a heatless  apartment... Have they fixed it for you yet Tommy?

Once again I cleverly hide the response in the quote  after 10 years or so of being here you would have thought I'd have figured it out by now

I don't think I paid that much for mine.  I've had it for several years, so it may be an older model

I forgot that I had the inner bowl thingy in my deep freeze.  It's been there for months.  So, I decided to use it.  It was very good ice cream, but with what it cost to make it and how much I got, it's cheaper to get it at the store

I'm on a make it myself kick.  I'm having a lot of fun doing it.  It may not last when I get back to work, but for now the cooking has been fun

I just read through that link.... I generally have a fairly well stocked freezer... And my only freezer is the one atop my refrigerator so I do not think I would have space to keep the bowl flat ...as recommended

But I have heat in the bedroom and the bathroom, plus heaters in the living room.

Also after 52+ years of being reasonably literate , you might have thought me capable of ending sentences with a period and beginning new ones with a cSpatalused letter

Today I heard about a way to make homemade ice cream without an ice cream machine.

We missed watching the ball drop.  We were watching "an inconvenient truth" cause nothing says holiday like reality slapping you in the face and telling you to wake the hell up
