We relaxed in our room until just before noon, which is when registration opened at the convention center and the Gale shuttle buses began their rounds (thanks, Keith!).  Our shuttle stops right in front of our hotel and we were on the first one.  Got our registrations squared away and figured out where I have to be first thing tomorrow and Saturday.  Took the shuttle back to our hotel, dumped our conference stuff, got in our car, and headed for Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney).  Had a nice lunch at Rainforest Cafe and shopped a bit, but it was too darn hot for us to be out very long.  We stopped at a market for snacks that will comprise our dinner later and we're in for the evening.

Well, that's weird!  I just got back to work from lunch.  In my car, I was listening to an oldies station and they were playing a jazzy instrumental on the radio that reminded me a bit of "Too Darn Hot" (but it wasn't that song), so as I walked into the building, I had "Too Darn Hot" going through my head.   Then, in the last post on HHW, Ginny wrote "too darn hot" in her post!  Ooo...spooky!

I've had dinner and now I'm ready to chill out.  I have to meet Joshie at City Center at noon. I can't believe it's the end of the week,

I drove over to Culver City earlier today for a blood draw, only to learn that that office has permanently closed. Ugh. I just checked their website a couple days ago, too. They have other offices, but the parking is just HORRIBLE at the Santa Monica locations where I used to go. I was so glad when this one opened--easy drive, easy parking. I'll try one of their other locations next week. I was hoping to get it over with.

I treated myself to a falafel at the new falafel joint. It's a little mom-and-pop place and so far the food has been quite good. Today, though, they were unable to make change from a $10 bill. I gave them a credit card instead. No problem for me, but I hope they're a little better organized in the future. Too many of my favorites bite the dust.

Speaking of parking, there are people who block our driveway far too often. One of my neighbors doesn't hesitate to call for a tow. After an incident a few weeks ago I think I'll have to start doing so, too. A few Metro station opened a couple blocks from me and I think that may make our parking situation worse.

Yeah, darn!  We'll be heading northwest on I-26 by the time you get into South Carolina.

Don't know yet if it's going to be any good, but I love the music. Frederich Hollander did the score, Jerome Moross did the orchestrations.
