Finished Mahler's Third - pretty great - almost 100 minutes long. On to the fourth, which is MUCH shorter at around fifty-five minutes. I am simply astonished at the sound of this set.

Which Bernstein/Mahler series are you listening to, BK? He did a series late in his life, which was released with a series of Erte images on the covers. Is that the one?

The original recordings for Columbia - his later recordings for Deutsche Gramophone I'm not fond of and I really don't like the sound. These, with this new remastering, are fantastic.

Waco nearby has some interesting museums. Keith is interested in the Dr. Pepper on and the Texas Ranger one looks interesting, as do a few others.

San Marcos is a college town. It's pretty, but it doesn't have much to see, as least as far as I've seen.

I don't think the time of year is bad. In fact, I think it's a beautiful time of year. The Hill Country has plenty to see, though Fredericksburg might be more charming than San Marcos.

Thank you. I have considered a day drive to Fredericksburg from San Antonio, now that we will have a car. I am glad you mentioned it. Keith picked San Marcos only as a place to stay the night before we fly home from ABIA.

I had to look up the towns in Hill Country-lol. The only place, I noticed, closer to the airport than San Antonio is San Marcos.

Yes she did, and then we watched it and liked it. We haven't watched it in awhile. I guess we have been busy with A PLACE TO CALL HOME & POLDARK.

We have also been watching THE LAST DETECTIVE. Have you seen it? It stars Peter Davison.

The Macy's sale flyer same in the mail Saturday and while browsing through it I saw that they had just such a recliner on sale for about 1/2 price

Well, I'm off. I'm meeting my friend David and his wife downtown at a local diner, King Solomon's Reef (aka The Reef). They have some pretty good food. It's really low key and NOT fancy, but good tasting food. But I don't think very much of it is very "healthy," so you takes you chances in that respect.

So we drove the 10 miles to the mall, parked after much searching wandered through the Macy's only to learn that there was no furniture at that location and we needed to go to another Macy's 25 miles away
