May I presume Vixmom's story is over? And she has passed on the matricide?

Story is over, matricide has been postponed, but not off the table .... After all the chair has yet to be delivered

Vixmom, may I recommend you refrain from watching Mel Brooks' The Twelve Chairs for the next few days?

Matricide is a good word, too.

Reminds me of a comedy sketch for CD Radio Theater's production of Oedipus Rex:

He killed his father --
That was patricide.
Then he took his mama
for a mattress ride.

Yes, John G, as Jane mentioned, I recommended BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES. New Zealand is indeed more than raising sheep.

Mahler should only have lived so long to write a symphony based on the story of the chair.

The first episode was excellent. Thank you very much. I'm going to parcel them out like fine chocolate truffles so I don't OD on them.

Oh, my news:
TWO flat tires in two days!! Can you believe it?
Yesterday I was driving down the street when my car made this AWFUL noise, which was followed by a message on the dashboard telling me one of my tires was underinflated. I drove to a gas station, where they now have a little machine that takes $1.50 (quarters only) so you can put air in your tires. I did so, but it didn't look right, so I drove it to my auto repair place, which is open on Sundays. They checked and adjusted all the tires and reset the indicator.

That is not nice. Glad nothing happened while you were driving.

Oh no, that's terrible.  Are your tires under warranty?

Then, today, I was starving and in need of a break, and also salivating for some enchiladas, when I go out to my car and discover that the FRONT tire in now flat. The REAR tire--yesterday's problem--looks fine. GAWD! I called for roadside assistance, the guy came and changed the tire, and tomorrow I shall attempt to drive back to the mechanic and have one or both tires repaired. At least that's the plan. We shall see.

I doubt it. The car's five years old. I'll dig out the warranty tomorrow and check. I suspect they can be repaired.

I was lucky when I got my flat a little while ago that the repair was free at BJ's where I bought the tire

The guys that own the repair place are very honest and I like dealing with them, so that helps.

That is a nice service. They didn't charge me anything yesterday and the last time I had a flat the repair was only $25. I can live with that. In the world of automotive repair, it's peanuts.

Lest another few posts go by without a mention of Gustav Mahler, I'll just say that there were many times over the years that I thought of getting Bernstein's DG (used to be DGG) Mahler series, and as I think about it now, I'm pretty sure that I not only never got any, I've never even heard any of them.

Hmm...that might mean I have to go back to the dealer where I bought the car. I'll have to check.
