Lest another few posts go by without a mention of Gustav Mahler, I'll just say that there were many times over the years that I thought of getting Bernstein's DG (used to be DGG) Mahler series, and as I think about it now, I'm pretty sure that I not only never got any, I've never even heard any of them.

You saved some money.

That is the saddest part of the story.

On Saturday, while I was making  the banners ,I watched several hours of the Netflix series The Crown... It's about Elizabeth II and starts after WWII and before her marriage

I want to watch this but we don't get Netflix.

I'm sorry, Vixmom. But I was laughing so hard at your story that I had to go back to the beginning to read it to my daughter.

Wrote about half the liner notes and may write more in a bit, read the first half of the script and will read the second half shortly, went to Gelson's and got a couple of tiny drummettes and some Pop chips for my snack, and on Mahler's seventh, which is really good.  The sixth, my favorite, sounds so much better in this mastering, but my one and only qualm remains - the cow bells in the most emotional part of the entire symphony are barely present and, for me, they are a major component of what makes that twenty or thirty seconds so incandescent.

We currently have more than enough shows to watch now that we have Acorn tv.  I expect we will eventually see it.
