And on that note (B-flat), I'm leaving work for the holiday weekend!  We don't have work on Monday, so it's a 3-day weekend for us all!

But before I go, I'm off to brave the wilds of Costco.  I hope to get a cheesecake for tomorrow's Christmas Eve do at my parents' house...hope because they may not have anymore. :-\

We'll see.

I also need to get some whipped cream.  I won't get that at Costco, though.  I only need (and can really only use) one can and not a 4-pack, so I'll go to Fred Meyer, which is next door to Costco, here in Tumwater.

Be back later!

It was wonderful meeting both Jane and Keith. Will be hard to top that this holiday season.

Nice photo of the view, too!

That was a bar i dragged them to. It's an open-air place up on the fourth floor with a nice view of the city. Those large colored lights on the right are actually lights on the section of the River Walk that goes by the Paramour.

What are you going to suspend in it?

My blood pressure was all over the place today; all readings were better than yesterday's 170/116.

One cannot ask for a better host and tour guide than DR John.  He picked up at the hotel and took us to LA Fonda.  We both agree dinner was fabulous.   I had by fat the best spinach enchilada ever.  The sweet potato one was pretty darn good.  The empanda, what was it John, was.....OMG delicious!

When we returned to the hotel I could not resist sampling the tart in the goodie bag John gave us-yum.  What exactly is it?

Butter.

It also has almonds, homemade raspberry jam (not made by me), almond extract, sugar, flour and salt. That's it. But I think it's the butter and the salt that steal the show.

Empanadas de huitlacoche.

Huitlacoche is a very tasty corn fungus. And they were outstanding.

I am not usually a fan of raspberry but this is very tasty.   Butter I tasted 😃
