Blessedly and thankfully, I am now home for the next, oh, 36 hours or so.

After getting into the opera of The Crucible and watching the film with Daniel Day Lewis, I have moved on to this wonderful PBS dramatization, which owes a great deal to The Devil in Massachusetts, the best book I know on the politics behind the witch trials.

It was delicious. The cake was pretty good, could have been somehow silkier. But it was rich. The host told me coconut and pineapple were two of his favorite foods, and he enjoyed it.

We had some great food at the party: beef tenderloin, carpaccio, Spanish meatball, various pates and rillettes, chorizo-stuffed dates wrapped in Serrano ham, cheeses and, of course, excellent wines.

Well, I'm done with work.  Earlier, my sister called and asked if I would go to Home Depot with her, so I said sure.  Now, I just got a call from my friend Margo whose car isn't starting and she needs a ride from where she is (she's not home) to Kaiser Permanente to get her meds before the long weekend, then a ride back to figure out what to do about her car. Hopefully, it'll all work out for her. 

Anyway, be back later.

Well, I picked up Margo from the gym where she had been working out and took her to get her meds.  We got back to her car and again it didn't start.  When she turned the key, there was jyst a click and nothing.  We tried jumping the battery, but that also did nothing.  So, I drove her home and she'll have to have it towed on Friday.  She just isn't sure where she wants to have it towed.  At least her daughter has a car and they can share.

Today it was 71 degrees in Tacoma - with heavy rain!

Rivers are overflowing all across Western Washington, but it is tank top weather.

Wow.  We were happy to have 60 degree weather and a walk to the market with only a drizzle here and there.

The market wasn't overly crowded at Fred Meyer and we walked right up to the pharmacy for my prescriptions.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Richard and I are about to head west to Normal, Illinois, for Thanksgiving at my niece's with my sister and her husband.  Will check in from the road, if my new iPad works the way they told me it should.

Thank you, DR Vixmom, on all 3 counts!  We arrived here exactly 6 hours after we left home.  Checked into our hotel, then went around the corner to Laura’s for a delicious chicken and rice dinner.  I baked the frozen apple pie we brought and we visited for a while.  We’re now back at the hotel to crash, looking forward to the holiday tomorrow.

Ginny, I am glad to read that you and Richard are back to Normal!

Watched two more episodes of Stranger Things, which is now directly at the point where it's beginning to be irritating, just as in the first season.  Ate some snacks (had tuna sandwiches for my main meal), and am now relaxing.  Have to do the event page for the Kritzerland show now.
