And now, I must be off. My niece's aunt is having a retirement party and I was invited, so I'm going. I don't know how long it'll last, but I would expect not too long.
Be back later.
Well, Valerie's retirement party wasn't much of a party. There were about 25 people total. I didn't know any of her co-workers. When I got there, everyone was just sitting around a large table waiting for food. I got there a little late, so I hope that there had been some socializing. Otherwise, I sat with my family, then we all were just sitting there waiting for the food. We all pre-selected what we wanted to eat when we RSVP'd. I chose the pasta primavera. It wasn't bad (not great), but there was a lot of it. Leftovers! We all ate, chatted, watched gifts being opened, a few stories were told, ate cake (that was good), then people started leaving. I left after the first few people did, but there were more than half still there. It was a nice-ish (for me, anyway) evening, and Valerie seemed to really enjoy it, and that's what's really important.
