Friday. Sunny. Clear.

It is my hope to make this a mental health day, a much needed respite from the ongoing hell. I will get out and do some more clearing this morning, to be sure, but I fully intend that it's to be a day with no service people, tree people, roof people, insurance people, and the like. So, morning hours outside before it's hotter than I'd like, and then some much needed work inside, clearing space in the basement to store things temporarily and make it a safer place for cats for when construction activity begins in a few weeks.

Vixmom, I have SO been there, with a tooth issue developing either on a routine Friday, or on the Friday before a holiday weekend. Big vibes to you, that the tooth is calmed down with the painkillers and gives you a break.

Switching over from Comcast (Xfinity) to Hotwire Fision cable system today. My development where I live made a deal with them. They rewired the entire community.

TOD

I haven't been in watching or listening mode for the past week, but maybe I can get back into some of the latter while working inside the house this afternoon. These latest Kritzerland CDs look awfully appealing; in particular, the Julius Monks to which I've had no previous exposure.

Movies can wait right now, but what I want to return to is the AMC series THE TERROR, which just came to the close of its ten-episode run. I believe I need to jump back in at episode 5 or 6 and carry on from there. It is, in a word, incredible. It's probably not for everyone's taste, but it rings my bell.

In the 1980s I was prone to constant ear infections.  I remember a Memorial Day weekend where my right ear was swollen shut, the pain was unbearable, and all I could do was wish I were dead and wait until Tuesday to see my doctor for a prescription.

About an hour ago I noticed that Thatch's right eye was partly closed, and sure enough, close inspection shows he's having an issue with it.  I hope I can get him to the vet today or tomorrow.

Thatch sees the vet at 11:30.  We'll see Dr Kahn, who saw Annabelle last month and suggested the air purifiers.

Rehearsal was fine.....except my new wheelchair pusher turned right instead of going straight when he took me offstage.  To the right are the STAIRS.....  I hollered otherwise it would have been a replay of Richard Widmark in Kiss Of Death.

I wrote some silly comment, but when I hit post, it told me I was Forbidden.. Then I couldn’t get back to anything at HHW.

No mention of The Lambada, the Forbidden Dance?

Or did i miss it?

In the opposite direction, Mean Mrs. Deagle, played by Polly Holliday, in GREMLINS - for educational purposes - I don't think this would be acceptable in a new film to treat a silver citizen this way [at least at my age, I don't think so, continuing the HHW discussion that old people jokes get old as we get older.]

I botched two attempts to get Thatch into his carrier.  I got him onto the carrier and he escaped while I was trying to zip it up.  Shortly after I tried to catch him, got a leg and dropped him while he fought me.  He's under the bed hiding from the big bully, I cancelled the appointment, and I feel terrible about making his life hell today.

I am a bit surprised Keith doesn't have us watching THE TERROR.

Thatch seems to have forgiven me.  He lay down with me for an hour and now he's brushing against my legs,  I'm wondering if the conjunctivitis I thought we had cleared up is still in is right eye.  There's a little discharge
