I leave at 5:15 for rehearsal, if the chicken isn't here by then, I'm going to have something else.

If I'm to jog pre rehearsal I have to leave in five minutes.  If not, there's now not enough time to eat nor am I really hungry and I won't have time to do both after rehearsal.  What a conundrum.

We are having a rehearsal tonight.....running some dance numbers, and then running Act One.

DR VIXMOM I know....I know....but they changed my jacket and it's black....I think it's because they have a nice BLACK policeman's hat, so there you are.....  I found a pair of black pants in my closet that fit, so I guess Lt. Ward is ready....to chase dogs, kids, bums, and then tap dance in NYC.

Ah well, creative license...if he can tap dance I expect he can wear black

I imagine you will look dashing whatever color you are sporting

Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co

Thanks DR VIXMOM as long as the audience doesn't do the dashing - I'm fine.

Allyn Ann Mclerie has died.

She was always a favorite of mine, as the younger Mrs. Carlson on WKRP, as Molly Dodd's mother, on the OBC of Miss Liberty, and so many other roles.

She was Anita in West Side Story? That's casting that wouldn't be likely today. Much like Barbara Cook in Funny Girl.

Starting to watch Phantom Thread. Not crazy about the script. But it looks gorgeous and, even if I don't like the characters yet, I do like the performances.

Just for the gosh darned heck of it, here's some photographic evidence from yesterday on Roosevelt (formerly Welfare, formerly Blackwell's) Island. Stacy Horn, left, is the author of the new book, and that's Kristi on the right.

My book group is reading DELICIOUS by Ruth Reichl.  It begins with the baking of gingerbread.  So far this cake is a theme throughout the book.  At the end (I peaked) the recipe is included.  I enjoy a good gingerbread and considered making the cake for the discussion.

I did a search to read the comments on the cake.  While they are very positive, I discovered this is really a ginger spice cake baked in a bundt pan, way too much food for our small group.

You should totally make this for the discussion. Even if you give the rest away.

Memorial Day greetings!  Laura worked at the golf course this morning while Richard and I lolled around her nice cool house.  She was home in time for lunch, then she and I played in her craft room for several hours.  I’m about to put baked beans in the oven for our Memorial Day cookIN - too hot for a cookOUT.

I would absolutely do so if this was still my Ashland group.  Our 10:00am meetings were also yummy.  This is more casual at 4:00pm in the club house.  I have baked for it or taken wine but only a few people eat the snacks.  I am not sure I even want the ginger spice cake, though it would likely freeze well since it has sour cream.  I wanted to make it when I thought it was a regular gingerbread.

I don't understand why some people respond to facebook threads with "who cares".  If they don't care why can't they keep quiet and move on to a subject of interest to them!

Watching "Love Me or Leave Me."  What a terrific film!  I think it's one of Doris Day's very best.
