Well, you've read the notes, the notes were certainly notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows that are certainly cows come home.

George, regarding your post last night, putting the closing bracketed words makes no difference, unless your post will be quoted or you want to change the font and size back to what it was previously.  Trust me, I have done it both ways many times, including last night’s Page 6.

Test one is with opening and closing brackets, and Test two is opening brackets only.

Listening to Sassy sing songs based on classical music.  Her range on this album, her vocal range, is really kind of astonishing.  The arrangements are full and fun, but the mix is so weird - the strings jump from the right to the left - I'm trying to fathom what was done here.  They started on the right but are now left of center.  But she sounds great.  Third track the strings are hard panned left.  First track they were hard panned right.  Second song they were pretty much just left of center.  Maybe someone thought this was a comedy album.

The charts are by Marty Manning, who I know from some Columbia albums including one I had called The Twilight Zone and which contained no music from The Twilight Zone other than the theme.

That's weird.

Yesterday, I went Legally Blonde prop shopping!  I got almost $30 of stuff from the local Dollar Tree, then I got a few things from a couple of other places.  I ran into my friend Marsha at Fred Meyer and she said that I could borrow her laptop that she never uses!  I still need to find out how many they'll need.  Hopefully, not too many.

Today, I have some TV watching to ketchup on, as well as some laundry to do.  Little know alternative fact:  "Laundry To Do" is the original title of what became "Magic To Do" in Pippin.

And on that note (G-flat), I'm off to bed.

Have a good day, all!

Listening to a really interesting Yusef Lateef album - made in 1961 some ignoramus on Amazon called this World music and acted as if Lateef, like others, were jumping on a bandwagon.  Funny thing is, in 1961 World music was not a thing and the term didn't really start being used until around 1983.  So what Lateef was was a pioneer, and envelope pusher.  But this isn't off-putting or weird - a lot of it is straight ahead jazz and great jazz at that and beautifully recorded.  A few tracks have some exotic instruments or percussion, but they're still tonal and very attractive.  But the reason I bought it is because he has the great taste to include the love theme from Spartacus and the theme from The Robe and that automatically gets this an A.

What's really interesting about the Spartacus track is that Lateef got to it long before Bill Evans' all-time classic version on Conversations With Myself in  1963

Maybe go to a store like the Container Store or Ikea that sell computer desks. They sometimes have "display" laptops that are made of cardboard or plastic. Perhaps they have them for sale or they could direct you to a place that you can buy them.

Sunday morning greetings!  We slept in this morning and Richard's getting ready to attend church at 11.  Afterwards we'll probably check TKTS for our one last theatre opportunity before we go home tomorrow  :'(

Yes, I have a few pieces of photographic evidence to post when I’m on the computer later. It was a beautiful day in the city, the show and the food and the company were great, and a good time was had by all.

Desperate Measures is fantastic, a perfect entertainment, and I could only wonder when it will become available for performance out in the world.

Yesterday's sore throat has indeed become a cold.  I slept in after feeding A & T, and when I take my meds this morning, I will add 3000 mg of vitamin C to the mix.

I was feeling a light scratchy throat on the train last night, which thankfully disappeared in a Benadryl-aided sleep that I sorely needed.

Here's last night's update on little Mego:
A beautiful day that brought beautiful news!

After a week of the most godawful heat and anxiety about Mego, this morning we got a wonderful update (and a break from the oppressive weather).  He is doing astonishingly well. At one point, the vet even used the word “phenomenal.”

Last night, the first attempt to wean him off the vasopressin did not go as planned, so this morning they tried again. As of 11 a.m. he was down to a minimal dose of vasopressin. If all goes well, by tomorrow he will be off it completely and they will start weaning him of norepinephrine, the last vasopressor.  His red blood cell levels are holding steady, not quite optimal, but almost there.  Very little fluid is draining out of his belly, and what is coming out shows no bacteria. The drains in his belly may be coming out tomorrow, too.  His blood pressure was 113 this morning, which is great!

And Mego himself is trying to say he feels better. He is more active and repeatedly tries to get on his feet. He is still weak and wobbly, but with a little support from the techs he manages to stay upright for a bit.

Wait, Dr. DiFazio is calling!   And she has even better news for this late evening update!

Mego did so well this afternoon that they weaned him off the vasopressin completely and started weaning him off the norepinephrine. His blood pressure remains stable and is right where it should be.

The drains were removed earlier than planned, because effectively nothing was coming out. Another good sign.  His red blood cells remain at a good level, not quite normal, but close.  He is less and less wobbly. He got up and went straight for his food tonight.  And best of all, and the most tangible sign of his improvement, he made his way to the litterbox for the first time and peed. That was HUGE.

“I’m really thrilled!” Dr. Difazio said, and it sounded like she meant it. Thrilled is an understatement for how we are feeling, though!

We’d like to thank Dr. Jillian Difazio and the entire ICU team at VERG Brooklyn for the care they are giving Mego. And a big thank you, too, to Onika and Dee and all the front desk staff who have taken our many calls with such patience and have always made sure to get pictures to us.

He meowed for his picture tonight. He is such a sweet boy.
