I'm surprised BK found two supermarkets open today. Did they close early in honor of the holiday?

Today, the family is getting together at my parents' house.  I made a chocolate turtle cheesecake that looks like it turned out well.  I'm sure that it'll taste as good as it looks. ;D

I'm home and have been for a while.  We had some pretty good food at my parents' house.  Everyone really liked the chocolate turtle cheesecake that I made, but we all agreed that it was very rich!  Here's a picture of the very piece that I ate:

Its always a tossup  as to which channel I should pick to watch the Macy's parade.  I often bounce back and forth trying to catch all the musical  spots and generally failing

That's why I record both. :)

I like a bargain as much as the next person, but I find the Black Friday frenzy so OTT. Electronics I can understand; it just seems fitting somehow. Is there anything that doesn't get the Black Friday treatment? I did check a few items on Amazon that I've had my eye on. One of them has dropped in price, but only one. Maybe tomorrow will be a different story.

And no, I will NOT be out in the stores. Fine for some, but online shopping works best for me. I was so not born to shop.

Right now, I'm watching the NBC broadcast and recording it to my DVD burner.  I just started so Laura Benanti is singing "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?"  Since she won't get her own cast album, I'm happy that she's able to do at least this!

Thanks for the photo. What's in it? And do you plan to resume your cheesecake baking on a regular basis?

I got an Amazon notice for a micro SD card that's normally $249.99, but was on sale for only $79.99!  I did buy that.

I've noticed a number of items marked "Amazon's Choice." Aside from good reviews I'm wondering what other factors are involved. Not all items with good reviews get the distinction.

THIS is the recipe that I used.  The only changes that I made were that I used a graham cracker crust instead of the vanilla wafer crumbs, and I added some unmelted mini chocolate chips to the batter. :)

I might post more later, but this is the house at the time my grandparents bought it in the early-mid 1950s. The property was an acre, which we all thought was huge. They did a lot to the house over the next few years, and that property and the neighborhood hold very dear memories for me. It just happens that last night's dream involved me driving through there on a visit to Columbus, and trying to find traces of the actual property. My grandfather had died in 1959 and my grandmother sold the place when she moved to Florida the following year. It went to developers who wiped everything out and built a few apartment buildings. On actual real-life drives through there in subsequent years, nothing was recognizable. But in the dream I was doing it again, and I was discovering that there WERE traces -- if only I could find the right alley or neighbor's driveway or something. But I even had trouble finding a side road that had connected to it (and that's still there, nothing happened to the roads themselves). Then, as I said, the dream morphed into another in which I was living in an apartment that felt like L.A. and truly seemed to have no connection to apartments having been built on that property. Oy!

Nice picture and great story, ChasSmith.

I just looked it up and found this headline: Yes, Kelly Clarkson Actually Sang Live During the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I think that she was the only one. And it made a huge difference. Most of the others are horrible lip synchers. And some on the floats were not even singing at the same time as the recording. The camera kept going away from the singer because it was so ridiculous.

Why bother lip singing then.  They could wave and move to the music instead

Someone just texted me and thanked me for the years of goofiness and friendship - no name, and I don't recognize the number - so I texted that back and crickets.

A three movie day this was.  I want pumpkin pie.  I wonder if the market's still open.  I'm sure Gelson's closed early.

And even if it's open would they actually have any pumpkin pie left - doubtfully doubtful.

I'd read earlier that THE PROM had the first ever same-sex kiss shown on the Macy's parade.  I really liked that number.

Yes, that's what will happen to the leftover cheesecake. ;D

Elmore, a friend just announced she’s working for a nonprofit called San Antonio Pets Alive. Nice to know there’s another person putting up the good fight for our furry friends.

That's great, John.
