I remember when ELECTRA GLIDE IN BLUE came out, the PR was saying that it would make Robert Blake the next BIG movie star.

Then the movie sank like a stone.

Yes, we have had many of our splendidly splendid regulars here with us today.  And there have been many errant and truant, which is hardly in the spirit of Valentine's Day.  But, you know what - who gives a flying Wallenda?  If people wish to read posts and then leave without so much as a hello, well, then, fine and dandy and also dandy and fine - I shall laugh and laugh and just when they think I can laugh no more I shall laugh again.  This too shall pass, buckaroos.

Guess you can't get enough Robert Blake, eh, BK?

I saw him in an old OUR GANG the other day, and I thought, he never would guess how his life would turn out. But who can?

An(other) odd thing about Electra: the guy who directed it was the guy who produced and managed the band Chicago.

Well, I have caught up and in order to avoid BK's wrath I will just post that I watched an episode of the old TV series RACKET SQUAD which guest starred Anne Kimball and Peggy Knudson as confidence girls.

I have interviewed people who worked with Robert Blake back in the 1950s (and one gal who dated him) and they didn't like him.

Follow up RACKET SQUAD with a the critically heralded RACQET with BK and BC (Burt Convy). Also BB (Bjorn Borg). It's a Valentine's Day must!!!

elmore, I wrote a remake of THE UNINVITED for Universal back in the mid-nineties.  Yes, I know...a daunting task, given how wonderful the original film is.  But we went back to the original Dorothy Macardle book and re-focused the story on the sister like it was the novel...though we updated it and set it in America, giving it a Southern gothic touch.  It never got made (for a lot of reasns that had nothing to do with the merits of the script), but I thought we plumbed some interesting depths in it and certainly could deal a bit more freely with the lebsian aspects inherent in the material.

I am soon for Wusstown. And I have my doubts about 8 pages happening here tonight. But that's okay. Like the Phoenix, we shall rise anew.

I loved Racket Squad.  I saw Reed Hadley, the star of that show, in something that I watched just in the last couple of days.  It might have been All in a Night's Work.

That's a good site. I have their two Wheeler & Woolsey titles, but I wish they had more. Any Wheeler & Woolsey fans here? Those two are quite hilarious.

I have finished Electra Glide in Blue.  Not at all what I expected, I must say.  I don't know WHAT I expected, but whatever it was the movie wasn't it.

I enjoyed watching Jason Bateman on Saturday Night Live last evening.  However, after watching him in the sketch, Gays in Space, it is sadly quite obvious that Mr. Bateman does not possess even a single homosexual gene in his entire body.

Still waiting for DRKERRY's photo so that I can make it into his avatar.

RACKET SQUAD.....hmmmmmmm.....

I watched PRIVATE SECRETARY and am awaiting my DVD of Mr Bk in FORGET-ME-NOT-LANE which I ordered last week.  I forget if Amazon told me it was on the way or not.

What is a confidence girl?  Does she use Stopette spray?

DR RODZINSKI I hope you are aware that Mr Randy Sparks appeared as "Phil" in the 1960 classic motion picture COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL.  He played guitar and sang two lovely songs.

Of course Mr Steve Allen the star of the picture also wrote some music for the film, as did co-star Conway Twitty - who crooned the title tune and made out like a bandit with Mamie Van Doren (a long in the tooth co-ed to say the least).

Talk about where is the DVD?  How about those Albert Zugsmith-Mamie Van Doren spectaculars?  SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE aka THE BEAUTY AND THE ROBOT and THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ADAM AND EVE....

Oh good heavens, has Ann caught up yet???
[/i]
Frankly, I don't believe Ann has not caught up.  What I believe is what my eyes tell me - she was here and she deigned not to post.  I think sometimes people get ornery or contrary.  Perhaps I shall be ornery and contrary, too, to be in the spirit.

I'm afraid that I must take the blame for this one, not our DR Ann.  The fact is, it was I who was catching up, just doing so on her computer while she was still logged in.  I was then distracted for awhile and, therefore, deigned not to post.  I shall take my rightful place in line for the bitchslapping machine!

The reason for my using DR Ann's computer tonight is that I have a job interview over here in Tacoma tomorrow afternoon.  The job would be fantastic (file clerk at a downtown law office, decent pay, great benefits, yada yada yada), but... DR Ann interviewed for this same job last week and learned that this firm basically never hires men for these jobs.  Apparently the big boss is a bit of a sexist ass, feeling that these "lower level" jobs are only suitable for women.  So, I'm most likely just a token penis (for lack of a better phrase) for interview quotas, but gotta give it my best shot.  They've had a whopping three guys in such jobs in the past seventeen years, so I guess it's not a totally lost cause.  So, yeah, any available employment vibes around 3pm PST would be greatly appreciated!

A Token Penis - that's the title of my next novel.  All right, I'll take the bitch-slap away from dear reader Ann, even though she has been most errant and truant this day.

The best of Employment vibes to DR JED. May a job be your valentine rose.
Valentine's day is not really a big deal here - despite the efforts of marketers. It has grown over the last decade or so. Still, it's way ahead of Halloween!!
