Well, you've read the notes, the notes were rehearsed twice, and now it is time for you to post until the twice rehearsed cows come home.

The lead character is in the fourth grade (all the actors are adults), and it's mostly her imagining that the letters of the alphabet are a singing group, and what she goes through when her parents tell her that she's going to have a baby sister, and how the letters help her learn to cope (or something like that).  A couple of the songs (to me) are much too sophisticated for a fourth grade character, and I think too sophisticated for an audience as young as this theater group usually does shows for. :-\ I don't know if young kids will be able to follow the plot.

Just my 2¢.

DR JohnG, Hudson Talbott sent me a lovely rejection.  He says he wants to illustrate only the books he's written.

We have a special election today for public advocate, so I will vote this morning.  Following that I need to change filters on both the air purifier and humidifier.  Now that I've found the paper cutter, I must cut some paper.

Rob Berman sent us a list of proposed cuts for the New Yorkers recording so I need to listen to the tracks and to approve or suggest others.  The recording is now set for March 25-26.

I have finished the first draft of the 21st play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS Collection.

Time to let it simmer.

If cleaning the litter box reflects how my day will go, this could be a lousy day.  The plastic bag into which I pour the day's dirty litter fell apart, leaving me with dirty litter all over my shoes and the bathroom floor.  As soon as our patrol was over, I vacuumed the floor.  Ugh.

Thinking about the Oscar ceremony:

In previous years, one or more of the presenters were representative of Hollywood's "glorious" past (e.g. Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway).

Was there anybody like that this year?

I don't recall any.

Another big mistake.

A big Oy! for DR Elmore.

I know you hardly need any free advice on this, but my procedure over the past several years has been to DOUBLE-bag the litter for the carry, however long or short the route to its final destination.

Don't know what other people use, but we save all the "t-shirt" (handle) bags from the supermarkets for litter. Before scooping I check for any obvious holes or tears, and only fill those that are intact. I used to not even check first, but I learned. And always double. There's no guarantee the seam isn't ready to split. Sometimes I'm tempted to just go with the one bag I've just filled, before I remind myself that any kind of a spill just ain't worth it.

The cast had last night off, and we enjoyed the relatively rare luxury of a solid followup orchestra rehearsal in which we nailed all the places that needed work or tightening up. It's too bad the orchestra gets "piped in" (nice theater, no pit) because even though some stuff is lacking from the original orchestration, it's still so much more satisfying to these ears than the new one.

My suggestions for fixing mistakes and discrepancies have, happily, all been taken. And as some of the piano book is derived from the original harp part, I've been given free range on what I play and how I play it so as to better the sound. (I'm NOT throwing in a harp patch. It's still just piano and celesta, just somewhat improved from what's on the page. IMHO, of course.)
