Regarding yesterday's TOD, many years ago I was upset with a close friend, who I considered my best friend. She and I had often talked about being candid and able to talk about anything. But when I told her that I was unhappy with her it ended the friendship. I don't yell at people or call them names, but I was hurt and disappointed in her behavior. I later felt I was naive for being candid, but we had talked about openness a number of times. That was a sad lesson for me. I am now more careful about what I say, knowing that people can be irrational, can get hurt, and, I think, few people really know how to handle delicate situations.
