JMK - what I'm seeing with Ebert has nothing to do with a facial tumor or a stroke.  It's way beyond that.

And who is this idiot-woman who keeps talking about bling-bling on local channel seven?

There is nothing that will kill a phrase faster than some idiot whitebread TV dweeb saying it.

One didn't really need two and a half hours of this horror show, did one?  You want to know why the Oscars are a joke and have been trivialized beyond all repair?  Thank the pre show.

If I hear the word "bling-bling" one more time I shall scream!

Well, just took Tewkes for a walk around the block.  Right around the corner from my house, you can look down over all of downtown Hollywood...The sky is crowded with news helicopters, advertising aeroplanes, and a Blimp.  Unfortunately the western sun was in my eye so I couldn't tell whether it was the Goodyear or Fuji blimp.  Many of the helicopters take off from Mount Lee  behind me where the Hollywood sign sits, so they come whirring over the house.

The weather is gorgeous and I'm really sorry I didn't get a chance to walk today.  I think someone on the TV just said it was the Goodyear blimp. BK, I saw one of the interviewers from behind and I thought my God, have they drag veteran local newscaster Bill Welsh out for this?  Isn't he dead?  And then the guy turned around and it was Roger Ebert!

Ha ha.  Bill Welsh.  Liked him MUCH better than Ebert.

Johnny Depp was his usual inarticulate self.  And Vanessa Paradis looked sullen and happy and worst of all, harsh.

One forgets sometimes how YOUNG some of these people are - like Scarlett Johanssen.  She's a KID trying to look like an adult.

Actyally I'm watching the fashion mavens on the Style channel. It's about six people sitting and commenting/dishing. Much more enjoyable than Star or Joan.

Penelope Cruz - no contest! I have never understood her appeal.

Salma looked good, I thought.

Warren Beatty is SO strange.  It also looks like he has had a lot of skin pulled behind his ears.

How inept can you get - trying to talk to both Clint and Marty at the same time.  Clint, being a gentleman, got the hell out of there, while Marty continued to pander for the Oscar.
