This morning I began the litter assimilation:  after I sifted and cleaned the litter from the big litter box and Stella's little one, I put some of the clean litter from each into both boxes with new clean litter, so their scents will mingle.  This did wonders when I was juggling Annabelle's and Thatch's litter boxes in 2017.

I don't think we ever did that. Man, you've become an expert on this stuff.

I learned this dealing with Thatch and Annabelle before the cage was suggested. and I was at my wit's end.  One day Thatch was kept in the bathroom with the big litter box while Annabelle was in the living area with the little box. Yhe next day they changed rooms while the litter boxes remained where they were.

Stella, when she's out of the cage, eats their food and drinks from their water dishes, and they don't seem to mind.

I'd heard putting two scents in could be risky, but that sounds like it worked great.

Had a nice lunch in the Hills of Beverly at Nate 'N' Al's.  I had a roast beef sandwich with coleslaw and Russian dressing.  There was an art fair going on so the block north of Santa Monica Blvd was blocked, so I had a nice walk from just above that.  On the way back to my car I browsed various artist booths - very little actual art (mostly giclees and numbered prints) and what there was was hugely overpriced.

Annabelle finally snapped and fought back.  Stella looked completely puzzled by it all, but we've got to get her biting and roughhousing under control.  One of the cat sites I consulted suggested she might have been separated from mother and siblings too early before she learned to control her impulses.  I hope Annabelle will help her grow out of this phase.

How are they getting along now?

Richard and I had an interesting afternoon.  First we went to a real estate open house at our friend Julie's home.  We can see the back of her house from the front of ours and were just curious.  It's a lovely home that her parents built:

www.coldwellbankerhomes.com/oh/middletown/3306-hampton-pl/pid_28975648/

We hope it sells for the price they're asking!

It is very nice.  As a person who had sold & purchased too many homes, I just want to clean up the clutter & get rid of some of the furniture for showing the home.

Yes, DR Jane, I thought there was too much furniture and clutter.  It would be difficult for a serious customer to get a sense of how their life would fit into that space.

And the curling iron left out.  There were sooooo many simple things that could have been done.  People are clueless and the realtor should have explained all the little things that can help sell a home.

At one point, Ramin said "why aren't we singing the songs we rehearsed?"

His shows are always fun. This sounds like a great one.

The Van Gogh exhibit was outstanding. Too many people but they were loving it, too.

Not only does the LCT revival have nothing set for Liza Doolittle Day tomorrow, it's Monday and it's their day off.

Had a baked potato with butter and chives for my snack.  I've been uploading CDs - the homegrown variety taken from vinyl or tape.  I went rummaging when I got home because I knew I had the Yanks soundtrack transferred on one of those CDs and thankfully it was right at the top.  But once I began going through stuff, I realized most of what was in there I hadn't listened to after doing the transfer.  So, it's been fun hearing some of this stuff.  Of course, I began with Yanks.  I'd already removed all the source songs, so it's just the score, which is about twenty-eight minutes of glorious music.

Interestingly, the other night I'd uploaded a Malcolm Arnold soundtrack two-fer on the Vocalian label - Nine Hours to Rama and The Lion.  The Lion was about 23:00 long and I thought that was odd for a full LP soundtrack.  Well guess what?  Without mentioning it anywhere, they left off thirteen minutes of music.  Guess they didn't have room for both scores on one CD but really, mention it somewhere or at least explain.  I'm going to listen to that next.  I'm just finishing up two volumes of David Raksin music that came from him - wonderful stuff.

One of the CDs I found, thankfully, is the La Strada ballet by Nino Rota.  I got the CD with Ricardo Muti conducting, but that didn't feel right to me and it was only about twenty-three minutes long, which also didn't feel right to me.  I knew I had the LP and that it was longer and here's the proof now - double the length of the Muti, which is simply a suite.  Why the full length ballet has never come out is anyone's guess.  I think it was on EMI, if memory serves.

Stella's running about, chasing A & T, and being fiercely independent.  She;s been pestering Thatch in the cat tree and he's been swatting at her, but there;s no sign of hostility.

When I first read this, I read it as, "Stella's running about, chasing T & A...." :o

BK, my friend John Wilson was a great friend of Richard Rodney Bennett and he's now recording all of Bennett's music for Chandos.

That's really cool, Larry.

Well, Jane, I need to get to sleep.  I asked my friend's wife if she would not come down to Tacoma too early, and she agreed.  We just didn't discuss exactly when...or where we'd meet.

I slept until 7:00, half an hour before the alarm was set to wake me up.

What coinkydink.  I set my alarm for 11:00, and woke up about a half hour before it went off, too.

A friend of mine used to have a house-staging business for people who were selling their houses.  She was pretty adamant about what to do with the staging.

Realtors asked if our last couple of houses had been professionally staged.  Nope, it was just Keith.
