Where in Mariemont is the carillon, DR Ginny?

DR ChasSmith, it’s in Dogwood Park, right off Wooster Pike.  We park on Pleasant Street, roll all the windows down, and enjoy the concert from our car.  There are concerts every Sunday at 7pm and on holidays at 2.

I've scanned about 120 so far and I'm not done yet

Does the groom’s Mom get to contribute some photos, too?  ;)

I imagine she's doing the same thing on her end and we're giving them all to the kids to assemble.  There are screens in the reception room so I think the idea is to just have them running throughout the night

The gentleman who lived behind me has passed away.  His visitation is tomorrow.....

Very nice people.  They moved into the house a few years ago when he retired.....rode a motorcycle and loved his doggies.....

He had heart and lung problems....and he and Myrtle were still BOTH heavy smokers.....he was 72.

I've got another hour's worth of work tonight.  I'll work a bit before I take Stella to the vet tomorrow. and probably work most of tomorrow night to be ready for Wednesday's rehearsal.

I got a text from our Moonshine and Mistletoe producer.  Things are stirring and fingers are crossed.

Keith is almost completely packed.  I am mostly packed, as much as possible until tomorrow.  We don't have to check out until 4:00pm but will probably leave for the airpirt sooner.

Keith likes to be at the airport early.  Our flight isn't until 8:00.  We will likely eat dinner there.

The TOD is most interesting.

Like DR DRUXY, I haven't seen a LOT of new type musicals.  I see the songs on the Tony Awards....and mostly it's "meh."

However I have purchased CD's of a few in the last couple of seasons that I liked....more or less:

The Great Comet....it's a favorite
Gentleman's Guide to Murder
Dear Evan Hanson.....but I don't worship at its altar

Bandstand....with some fun faux big band songs and a nice story....

I will leave you with ALL of the Disney cartoon retreads and most of the movies on stage....no interest in TOOTSIE or BEETLEJUICE....or those of its kind.

No interest in THE PROM either....

I think I have the CD of GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO MURDER, but I listened to in once, maybe 3-4 years ago, and I don't recall any songs from it.

I think I have BRIGHT STAR, too.

But, once again, I don't recall any of the songs.

I guess they don't write memorable songs any more.

Note that I said "memorable," not "good".

I am not sure what a counts as new musical.  I love the scores of TITANIC and RAGTIME, but newer shows like NEXT TO NORMAL and SPRING AWAKENING don't do a thing for me.

Spring Awakening is 13 years old and has already been revived on Broadway. Hardly new. That's why I was wondering how far back this should go.

A few others to mention from at least the last 10 years: I liked the scores to Kinky Boots, Here Lies Love, Levi and Carol Christmas. I also liked some of what John Kander had to offer in Kid Victory and The Landing and some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's score for School of Rock.

Had a nice dinner with friends. Pam retired on Friday and decided to cook tonight. She made a pepper dinner. Pepper-crusted lamb and a chocolate cake with black pepper-chocolate ganache on top. They were recipes from a book I'd given her for her birthday called Eight Flavors.

They also gave me a couple of garlic plants, which might help keep the mosquitoes away. Apparently bugs don't like the aroma.

Anybody know anything about a movie called Frank and Ava, about Sinatra and Gardner?

I have watched the third part of Shoah: Four Sisters. In this part, Paula Biren does her best to keep it all together throughout her talk, but you can see the tears form in her eyes. She won't let the emotion, though, get into her voice or her story. It's the survival mechanism she seems to have learned in the camp, and she was using it 30 years later.

Today, I'm having lunch with my friend Margo and her friend (who is now my friend, too) Marsha.  Marsha and I have the same birthday (May 5), and so we've all been having a birthday lunch together for quite a few years.

The co-birthday lunch today was good.  We went to Budd Bay Cafe and sat outside.  The weather was perfect...warm but not too warm , and a slight breeze as we sat outside by the water.

We met at 1:30 (I got there a little late) and didn't leave until about 4:30.  We ate and chatted and drank lots of diet Pepsi.

I had the Rajun’ Cajun Caesar Salad with blackened chicken and shared the Mile High Chocolate Cake for dessert.  The Caesar dressing was a little thinner than I'm used to, but it was good.

After that, I went to my sister's to help her with organizing some things in her garage.  Then I came home.

I'm now watching A Discovery of Witches, and recording it onto my DVD burner.  I'm making the DVD for a co-worker.  Otherwise I'd just watch the show.

My co-worker (whose name is also George) and his wife really enjoy the show.  I like it, but I'm mainly just watching it for Matthew Goode who stars in the show more than the show itself. ;)
