Apparently Audra McDonald and Michael Shannon are fully nude at the start of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de la Lune.

That and the fact I think it's a poor play will keep me away.  The movie is much better.

As much as I've liked the play all the years, I do think his screenplay is better, pretty remarkable that it's a different experience beyond just the usual opening the play up.

I was at the symphony. The theme was Nomadic Journey, and they played several pieces with Romanian or Hungarian influences, including Brahams' Hungarian Dances and the Hary Janos Suite from Kodaly, which I loved.

But my favorite piece of the evening was new to me, Enescu's Romanian Rhapsody.

And what have you been up to, Vixmom? Painting anything lately?

I'm started a movie called Becoming Astrid, about the woman who wrote the Pippi Longstocking stories. I have no idea if it's a truthful biopic or not, but it's fairly enjoyable.

Horrible story, Vixmom, on a Lutheran minister who was deported with her husband to Colombia.

Back from the Group Rep's opening night for Avenue Q.  I've never actually seen the show - I saw the cut-down presentation they did of this about five months ago.  It's hard to tell if I would have liked it better on Broadway with that cast and staging - here it just went on too long and seemed very repetitious.  I understand the producers insisted on giving it "heart" but it's so shoehorned in - obviously it worked, given the show's six and a half year run.  Better pacing would help and certainly better sound - they use tracks as we did for A Carol Christmas and they tried to copy what we did in terms of miking, with the difference being we had a professional designer.  They have three foot mics (the flat kind) and two hanging mics - but they only seem to pick up certain cast members while leaving a couple out in the cold.  The cast was mostly fine, and the audience was all friends and family so the reaction was what you'd expect.

I stopped at Rite-Aid and got Airborne and their equivalent of Coldeez - same exact ingredients - and now I'm home resting.  I really should not have gone out and the theater was a bit cold, but I had my overcoat.

After work, I went to my sister's to help her set up her carport for the PFLAG garage sale.

My sister had some roofing shingles in her shed that had been there for years.
