But everybody loves it.

Peter Marks in the Washington Post said it was hell. He hated it. But he's the only one I read that wasn't gaga.

Like most of this year's shows, what I've seen of Beetlejuice makes me not want to see one second of it onstage.

I like Alex Brightman.  I'd like to see him.

I know it's a feat to do,  and I've loved the actor's work, But unless the sound of the Beetlejuice voice processes differently in the theater, I'm sure I couldn't stand hearing that sound, as impressive as it is,  for close to two hours.

Apparently, nothing that's actually IN Beetlejuice is anything near what they performed tonight, with the tweaked lyrics and stuff.

The Prom is a fan favorite, but I'm just worn out from all the meta musical crap - too much, going of for too long - and Tootsie is filled with it, too.  And people still howl at the references - I guess it makes them feel hip and with it.  I hate to tell you what the first show that I know of did that - made fun of other musicals.  No one has ever been able to prove me wrong, BTW.

Well, Forbidden Broadway surprisingly began the same year as the show I'm referring to, but that wasn't a musical, that was a revue.  And in 1982 very few people even knew about it.  Certainly I did not.

Which reminds me of yesterday's TOD. I forgot Christine Pedi, who I think is a very funny impersonator.
