Tap Your Troubles Away number with Cindy, Diana, and me.  We were all so not great that they made the conceit that we were kids performing for some kind of tap show.  And funnily, we're better than I remembered. 

I liked it then (I'm sure I believed the conceit was what was intended) but it's even better than I remembered.

Ladies, gents, and dear readers, I give you a clip reel from Dinah and Her New Best Friends.  The set-up for the tap number is missing - it's that we're kids at an amateur dance studio doing a recital.  They had to do that because none of us had ever tapped before.  We're pretty damn good if you ask me.  Choreography is by Hugh Lambert.

I can hear faintly that it starts with "Silly Love Songs." Coincidentally, one my recent favorites has been Sonny and Cher (post-divorce, they make jokes about it) and Donny & Marie singing that song together.

Speaking of "Silly Love Songs" - I've been so amazed, BTW, that all these years, I just found out earlier this year that Linda McCartney is the "Linda" in the song "Linda."  (as in I count all the charms about Linda - Linda's dad was the lawyer for the songwriter.)

FJL, yes, make sure the sound is all the way - sound gets better as the video goes along.  Since this compilation was made by my manager FROM the first generation tape, which I'm having transferred now, hoping that's better.

I went to the acupuncturist today to address the pain in my lower back. It feels much better, but one needle seemed to enter the heart of darkness around the pain. It was, for a moment, excruciating. But it feels a bit better now.

Interesting set of reviews for Encores' Working. The Times again didn't care much for the show and everybody else did. But I found the Times' reasons far more convincingly laid out than the others'.

There is a hilarious scene in the movie of a car show in which all of the white, rich members are seen hat in hand while the national anthem plays in the background. The car is what they're worshiping.
