Vixmom has once again confirmed her position as Bargain Queen of HHW!

(Admittedly, DR George often rivals her for that position.)

Congrats on the new washer! May it give you many years of good service!

From last night:  Tom, the reason I didn't take a whole donut was because a whole donut is almost too much anymore, and there weren't too many left, and I had it not too long after I got to work.

Good for you eating less.

And good for you for wanting less.

Tuesday morning greetings from my new (to me) desk!  I found just the thing at a consignment store in Centerville (Dayton 'burb) and we picked it up yesterday.  It stayed in Richard's car overnight until Rob came after work this morning to help move it.  Now I have to put my Momcave back together.

Congrats on your consignment find. And, yes, we want to see it.

To make room for my new desk, I had to give up the recliner in my Momcave.  It's now up for grabs to anyone who 1) can use it, and 2) can pick it up at our home.  It's one heavy sucker, so moving it will require some muscle.  Rob and Mary Linda have declined, as have our 3 local nieces.

Good luck finding someone who wants it, and can move it.

Goodwill will take it, won't they?

I took today as a sort of Me Day. I just needed some time off. Plus, it's in the high 80s here. Ugh. I drove over to Whole Foods Market for some take-out for lunch and dinner. I'm quite happy with that. The to-do list can wait a day.

Yesterday's TOD:

Vixmom grew up in NY, eating pizza. I grew up in LA, eating Mexican food. I think I first had pizza in college. It wasn't something my parents ate.

There was a restaurant in Alexandria, VA called Generous George's. It served pizza and pasta. BIG servings. The place was always busy--packed, in fact. I liked their pizza, probably because it had a thick crust. One of their pasta dishes was served on top of a pizza crust.

I was SHOCKED to learn that they went out of business. It was the Financial Crisis and recession that did it. I think that was, for me, the biggest shock of all the businesses that went under during those years.

Today we took the baby to the zoo. He had his first ride on a carousel.

You are soooo lucky.

Yes, our Mexican food was wonderful.  When we moved to N.J. there were plenty of Pizza places and not a single Mexican restaurant.  We were unimpressed with the pizza though the locals all thought it was very good.

That is sad.  It sounds like a restaurant that would have survived.

Just finished watching the director's cut of The Creature on the check disc - the blow-up itself looks pretty much as the 4x3 did, so that's great news. However, something went wrong somewhere because the image is now jerky and stuttering on every moving shot or when any actor moves.  Not sure why that's happened as the test I saw was fine.  So, they'll have to fix that and if, for some reason, they can't then we have to go with the 4x3.  The encoding looks very good, though.  So, here's hoping that something went wrong and that a new pass will fix.

I didn’t have my first Mexican food until I was in college...if you consider Taco Bell Mexican.

The franchise didn’t get to Long Island until the 70’s
