Turner Classics is apparently showing The Man Who Came to Dinner on Christmas Eve.

Mediocre barbecue for dinner. Decent brisket, overcooked ribs. The borracho beans were lukewarm. When I took them back, they filled another cup and popped it in the microwave. Oy.

Are you writing a review for the restaurant?  I am guessing the only way to get the beans hot was by putting them in the microwave.

But the beer is cold and good.

If you like beer that is the way it should be.

Our condo monthly news letter arrived today and I cringed when I read "revert back".  I asked Keith and was pleased he too cringed.  I think it is worse than when someone says PIN number figuring they don't know the N stands for number.  Then Keith said he was about to comment to me last night, while watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, that Midge said Irregardless.  But then Suzie corrected her that is isn't a word & all was right in the world ;)

No self-respecting restaurant ever uses a microwave in an open kitchen.

Even McDonald's doesn't use microwaves.

Watching a short documentary (part 2 actually) on "The Hudson River School" of artists, including Thomas Cole, who lived in Catskill, and Frederic Church, who lived just across the river. Interesting to encounter this rich artistic tradition in an area that was as filled with philistines as any place I've ever been.

The camera pans across these paintings and they are gorgeous.

Coffee shops do and I worry if I want a pastry heated that it will be soggy & chewy.

Ask Keith how he feels about people referring to a book’s ISBN number...

I like the word "unthawed."

I always say, "You mean it was frozen?"

"No. They unthawed it."

Or "deboned." As opposed to "boned."

As in, "That thar chicken was deboned."

I've started a Robin Williams that had escaped me called Being Human. He's good so far, but the movie is likely to give me a toothache it's so sweet.

OK, you got me on that one.  You would not ask if the fish was deboned?

Keith is popping corn & I think I can actually eat it.  He was going to make some last night but kindly didn't since I wasn't up to eating it.
