Just before I read this, I had received an email from a former employer inviting me to an event this evening, and I accepted.  I am very happy about this, and I am also curious about why this has occurred.  I'm saying no more about this now, but I hope to have a fuller report tomorrow.

I don't get the issue with "the" in front of hot water heater

I simply say ATM.

I suspect I don't say the 3rd one

The issue isn't "the". The issue is: the water heater is for heating cold water, not hot water.
