Today, I go back to work. It's also the last day to pay any invoices for the year and to get the budget report to the finance office and to spend the budget down as close to zero as we can, but I don't think we have enough invoices to get down to zero, but my supervisor said that she's not worried about it. Okay...if she's not worried, I'm not worried.

One step forward, one step backward. Another poor night of sleep; I slept soundly until a little past midnight, then spent the next six hours alternating bouts of restlessness and pain with sleep and dreams I no longer remember.

Last night we watched Patrick Stewart's version of A Christmas Carol. Stewart is a good Scrooge - I would have loved to see his one-person stage version - and the supporting cast is good, but I think I prefer the Clive Donner-George C. Scott production. I've got the Scrooge of Alastair Sim and Michael Hordern waiting for me. I'll watch one of those tonight, if Annabelle will let me.

TOD:

I would love to visit the house in the country that we lived in from 1960-1962.

It doesn't exist anymore - although the barn that was on the property is still there. Someone tore down the house and built a new one.....

We drove by it when we attended the celebration of life for our cousin's late husband early this month..... A lot of the house on the road are gone - but many are just the same.

My own drives around the places of my former lives are very precious to me, as disappointing as many of those areas may actually be now. And because I TOTALLY get it, it's fascinating to hear about other people's places and memories.

I was familiar with BK's Roscoe & Sepulveda area -- though to be more accurate, the Roscoe & Woodley and Balboa and other areas surrounding Van Nuys Airport -- when I was involved with my flying lessons and activities. This was during 1977-1978 and it continued off and on till 1983-1985 when I was living in Redondo Beach and flew out of Torrance Airport for a while.

I couldn't even begin to respond to this TOD without breaking it down into very small chunks, concentrating on one period of time in one particular location. Even then, I think I'd be writing a book.

As DR Jrand69 said, there's no question I'd want to revisit every house and apartment I lived in.

The two most critical houses would be our house in Bexley (Columbus, Ohio) on Cassingham Rd just south of Mound St., and our house in Fort Lauderdale on SW 15th Terrace. Both houses are still there, and both have been expanded from the structures we knew, so there would be much change to deal with. But I'd do it.
