Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

We watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mystery, turned off the TV at 9:00, and got ready for bed.  The pain and muscle relaxers had me semi-comatose by then.

I was sure I would be awakened at midnight by the usual New York sounds of the New Year: fireworks, shouts and cheers, and sirens.  Nope, I slept until a little past 5:00, took more meds and slept until 6:30.

DR vixmom, how many gallons of potato soup did you make?  When I make vegetable soup, I begin with one pan and end up with four pans boiling away on the stove.  I'm ready to make a batch.

I will spend today writing.  I'm on my third chart for Patrick Brady, and I'm waiting on his fourth arrangement to land.  This afternoon, I'll make a nice dinner of pork chop, fried potatoes, sauerkraut, and bean salad.

Kitty cleanup finished.  Stella created a mess this morning, and I had to mop the kitchen floor.  She is one hyperactive cat.

Breakfast?  If I had my druthers this morning, I'd be sitting with DR vixmom in an IHOP, working myself into a frenzy over the menu options.

Does this mean that soon we will be the most popular site on all the Internet?  Number of page views for 2019?  14933156 - if I'm reading that figure correctly, that would be 14 MILLION 963 THOUSAND, 156?

Wow

Congratulations BK!

TOD

Relaxing and recovering. In my case, not recovering from overdoing anything, mostly from too little sleep following the ordeal of managing the feline contingent last night. It was a jungle.

We have a few houseguests who are traditional ones every year. We’ll all enjoy a slow day with some good eating and conversation and more eating and maybe some movie watching and then some more eating.

At some point I will get into some music study to begin preparing for rehearsal of new material tomorrow night. Study today, practice playing it tomorrow.

I filled up five 4 cup containers with the leftovers and we both ate about 2 1/2 bowlful before that.

That would be nice.  Vixdad isn't up for going out or any fancy full English breakfast options today so we are settling for tea and Thomas' onion bagels.

I wish Vixdad liked sauerkraut.

I love it , especially cooked with cubes of bacon and with caraway seeds...then you throw in maybe a dollop of sour cream when you're eating it with the pork....

Sounds wonderful. But if you think that’s something, try the frenzy at one of the larger and more active Long Island or New Jersey or Westchester or Connecticut diners.

Oh man. If I didn’t know I was going to be well fed right here in my own house in a little while...

Since I am denied the pleasure of your company this morning, I just ordered lox and bagel from Bagel & Co. I can't wait!

Exactly.  I love sauerkraut and Gulden's on a hot dog, or fried with sausages or pork.  I have this vague - very vague - memory of my Appalachian grandmother frying sauerkraut with apples.

So does the lox and bagel!
