The cast list has been posted online, so I am now legally cast in MURDER.

The director’s (female) best friend is indeed cast in the role that Tracy wanted in the show.  It really angers me that our director invited Tracy to the callbacks when she obviously had no intention of casting her.

All of the other people at callbacks were given three or more sides to do.  Tracy was given one side.  Tracy keeps wondering why she was invited to be there at all.

Very bad form from the director. :P

I suppose that eventually I will tell Tracy about the friendship, but now would NOT be the time to tell her.

I assume the director didn't ask if anyone wanted to read for a part that they didn't get asked to read.  I've gone to auditions where the director was kind enough to do that.  pug usually does that.

When I auditioned for Mamma Mia, Rich the director essentially said that he doesn't want to see people read for parts that he hasn't asked you to read for. :-\

Tracy used to do a lot of shows each year, but then her job and marriage got in the way and she kind of stepped away from theater (like Prince Harry).  Then the marriage ended and she was basically left with no social life, except her job.

Because of her crazy work schedule she needs to find a director willing to work with her.

I finally introduced her to the director of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, who went along with her schedule.

I was so happy to see her back on stage, even if it was a smaller part.

This was the same director, so Tracy had high hopes she could get cast.

Hopefully, this doesn't cause Tracy to give up acting all together and not audition again, even for other directors.

The director did say that, but said that would have to be at the end of the callbacks.  Unfortunately, she kept dismissing people as she went along, so none of us were left at the end.

That's weird.
