Topic of the Day...how I spent my Valentine's Day: I went to my parents' house and with Larry's (my sister's boyfriend) help, moved a computer hutch, a plastic chair pad, and an area rug out of my dad's library/TV room. Then, we had to take off a couple of doors to move a desk from my parents' bedroom into my dad's library/TV room. Then, we had to put the doors back on. The removed hutch was taken outside and my mom put a FREE sign on it, just in case someone wanted a free hutch. After the room was mostly cleaned out, Larry and I had to go pick up the new recliner that my mom bought my dad. We were able to get it into his Honda CRV and into the house and set up. My dad really liked it.

That's what I did yesterday.

This morning I need to post the three bills I forgot to post yesterday, stop at the market, and then settle in for the next three days to do my taxes. My fingers are crossed for news of a nice return at Tuesday's meeting with my accountant; I must pay for Thatch's echocardiogram and dental work.

My brother Randy's response was to have him put down. He says he would do that to his dogs if they had health issues, and that puzzles me. He's paid over $1500 for each of his German shepherds!

I'd like to get through all of my income, utilities, and insurance tallies today. The worst tallying is always the taxi and subway receipts.

Yesterday at the sitzprobe I had a nice visit with Paul Katz, whose show Tales of Tinseltown I scored for its initial 1985(?) workshop and a later production in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter Theatre. Our last project was around 1989, an aborted production by Michael Butler (producer of Hair) a Chicago musical, Pope Joan.

My friend Don Oliver is a wonderful composer who edited a collection of the best revue sketches around 1980. When I met Don around 1980, he was working as a copyist for Mathilde Pincus' Chelsea Music Service and now he is Chelsea Music Service.

I man on the far left is producer Jeffrey Lesser, whom I had never met before. He works with Paul. So here we are on break, Jeffrey, Paul, Don, and decrepit me.

I played on the computer yesterday and watched television and talked to Conrad Birdy Barnum a lot.

My sister Paula came by.....and returned a couple of dvds to me.

And then the day was over.

It’s up to 45 degrees here. In two days, we’re having a day where the low will be 62, then back to freezing two nights after that.

Although it's a Saturday and I have the show tonight, I get to have something of a ME day this morning and afternoon, which also feels good. I've done a little cleanup work on the computer which was sorely needed, and I'm going to attack the Music Room which even more sorely needs a good cleaning and straightening up.

I also have to be looking at this damned WILLY WONKA score so I can play my keyboard part with the orchestra at a rehearsal next week.

I say "damned" only because I don't know it yet, and I just haven't been in the mood to jump in. But the show, or this version of it, is based on the Gene Wilder movie with the Bricusse-Newley score, so it should be fun once I do get into it. It was just never one of those things I glommed on to in years past, so it's basically new to me.
