DR Elmore, I'm so sorry you have all that to go through  :'(

And I wish we were closer by to help...

I liked Dr. Aronoff and his staff very much.

I need surgery.  The proposed date is March 9, but I would prefer March 23.  It will entail an appendectomy for the polyp, a look at the lesion on my right kidney, and, if there's cancer, removal; of part of my colon.  I am a little freaked about it.

I am glad you like the doctor and his staff.

I would also be a little freaked out over it.

I am guessing you do not need to do the MRI since they are doing the surgery, yes?
Is this polyp the same thing that was seen on your appendix?

MRI never mentioned.   The polyp is not in my colon as I incorrectly stated; it's on my appendix.

My neighbor Judy will feed them.  I don't know if I will be releasedn the day of surgery or stay over, but she's set.

Then I understand why the doctor couldn't remove it.  I understand how this has been a bit confusing and possibly overwhelming or you.

I've been reading a novel written by a friend, covering the period between the 1920s and now and the Broadway scene, and it's really a lot of fun.  It's about three friends, a trumpet player, a spotlight runner, and a singer-actress.  I finished Part One last night with a beautifully written and heartbreaking scene between the main character, a trumpet player in his mid-thirties playing in the Winter Garden orchestra of West Side Story at the time, and a pianist friend he'd met as an 18-year-old when the friend was playing piano in the 1940 production of Pal Joey.  The older pianist was no longer working as a musician and dying from cancer and the first part ended with the trumpet player fulfilling the older man's two requests, a hospital visit when summoned and a trumpet solo of "Danny Boy" at his funeral.

What’s the name?

Broadway Melody.  He can't get a publisher interested.

Maybe he could go the BK route and self-publish.  It's a thought.

Just read the reviews of Mack and Mabel. The book still sucks. The score still soars. UhMaybe someone should direct the book as a silent movie with a few subtitles and play up the two-dimensional characterizations and just let the score speak for the show.

That sounds like a cool idea.  If nothing else, it probably couldn't be worse than any of the versions of the books that have existed over the years. ;)

Hey, can someone who got the special CD we gave with There's Mel, There's Woody, and There's You make me WAV files and We Send to me?
I am horrified to report that since I moved everything around last year, I am unable to locate my Kritzerland/Book cds.....most distressing.  I hope someone else can find theirs.

I moved them to a place that would be more convenient - wherever the hell that might be.

I know where my book is, but I don't know if I kept the CD with the book.  If I didn't, there's no telling where the CD could be. :-\ I can look when I go to lunch if no one else finds theirs before then.

In yesterday's mail I received the PERFECT get well card from my DAR friends.  On the front it says:

I heard your WHATCHAMACALLIT got all OUT OF WHACK and DISCOMBOBULATED.
It's a good thing they have those THINGAMABOBS to fix your DOOHICKEY.

My friend Marianne, who hosted our book group last night, was also wearing a THINGAMABOB on her right leg (for her Achilles tendon).

Did some mandatory work classes today. One was on anti-bribery, and the phrase quid pro quo kept appearing. Made me furious that I have to be held to higher standards than the president.

I have a question.  If I said that you are more than welcome to do something even though it is my turn, what would you think I was saying?

“Yo, bay-ach, get outta my way,” as politely as possible.

I guess it would depend on tone... it could be construed as

“Sure, no problem if you would want to take my turn, I’ll do it another time”

Or it could be understood as

Being annoyed that someone is pushing you out of your turn so they can take over

True it definitely depends on the tone. I took it completely at face value with a nice tone.
