DR Jeanne, best of luck with your taxes.  I hjope your new tax man treats you well.

Thank you. Between the changes to the tax laws and now taking the RMD from my IRA I'm having to rethink some things. Just having someone who's happy to explain things helps.

I watched the first 90 minutes of the debate before deciding it was time to go to bed.  There was too much chaos.

I find them too contentious. I may be a minority of one, but I don't feel this approach puts the candidates in a good light or is particularly helpful. The DNC and I don't think alike at all!

At the dentist. It promises to be a long one.

Root canal? Crown? Implant?

The dentist did his magic faster than ever. I was only there for a little more than an hour

Very good! Vibes for minimal discomfort.

It seems to me that explaining things to the client is part of the service.

Not so bad compared to other procedures.  You didn't need a shot, right?

Because of the extremely red, irritated eye issue I have been dealing with for too long I moved my yearly eye check-up a few months early.  I should have gone to the doctor for the problem 6 months ago.  She is calling in a prescription for steroid drops.

I had to use steroid eye drops before and after the cataract surgery. I had headaches for three months after the surgery, which I attribute to the drops. I know you are sensitive to things, as I am, so be careful. Hopefully, they won't bother you.

I picked up my eye drops at the pharmacy and was told my insurance didn't cover them.  I took them anyway.  As I was walking away I received a text saying the pharmacy was going to contact my doctor about getting the script authorized & did I want to optout of them.

Even if I had received the text, or the information, before I paid for them I think I still would have paid the full price.  I really am tired of my eyes constantly hurting and being red.

DR Elmore, are you up to a phone call this evening?

How about this weekend?

That would work!  I have nothing on the calendar, so you tell me when you’d like a call.

Maybe Saturday, late afternoon?  I was on my feet all day, and my legs ache so badly that once I lie down, I do not want to get up and move to the phone in pain for a social call.

I wonder how DR GINNY's appointment went today?

It went fine, DR JRand, thanks for asking.  I’m kind of in charge of my own treatment for now.  He said I can be out of the boot as tolerated, but not to go “cold turkey.”  He also recommended orthotic inserts for my shoes and I have a prescription for physical therapy.  After about 6 weeks (from now), if there’s not significant improvement, the next step is an MRI.

DR Ginny, I've been wearing orthotics for almost ten years and have been very happy with mine. I know many people buy them, then never wear them, but I'm the opposite. Mine were custom-made by a podiatrist. I LOVED the first pair. My feet changed after several years and I had a new pair made, which I like, but don't love, but still would not want to be without them. Not all shoes take the orthotic equally well, though. Overall, for me they've been well worth the cost.

Two teenagers were killed and another seriously injured when their car left the road this morning in northern Indiana......I just looked at the police video.....that car must have been going VERY fast....I didn't even see it in the tree until I watched the video a second time.

I stopped at Whole Foods Market today to stock up on what I could. There was a Japanese woman in line in front of me. She didn't have that many items in her cart, but her bill was $131! I'm still trying to figure out how she spent so much. She didn't seem surprised.

Sounds like a regular Costco run. ;)

Jane, if they do authorize it, can they refund the difference for this occurrence, even if it's after the fact?
