Today, I'm ushering for The Highest Tide, a stage adaptation of the book of the same name by local author, Jim Lynch.

I'm home and the show was really good.  I haven't read the book, but it's about a young teenager who lives in Olympia, his parents are going through a divorce and he finds a giant squid on the waterfront.  There is, of course, a lot more to it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

After the show, I went to the Fishtale Brew Pub for dinner (I had a gift card and wanted to finish it off), and I had the grilled chicken sandwich.  It was pretty good...a little hard to bite through, but not chewy or tough.

After ushering, my niece wants me to come over to her place and show her how to clip the claws of her cats.

After eating, I went to show my niece how to clip the claws of her cat.  It was pretty easy and she did quite well.  Her cat also cooperated, so that was good.  Hopefully, her other three cats will be as cooperating when it's their time.

Who says "saving"?

It's because you are saving daylight time...hence, Daylight Saving Time.

I use them interchangeably, because I really don't care about which is correct, just as I do antiviral and antibiotic.

Or safety deposit box (incorrect) vs. safe deposit box (correct). ;)

I have NEVER known which is Daylight and which is Standard. It has never made any sense to me.

Just remember that DST lasts about three times longer in the year than standard time.  I don't understand that!

One woman on Facebook just suggested that all events be cancelled, large and small, public transportation should be shut down, schools should be shut down, stores should be shut down.  And she follows that with, "This isn't panic."  Uh huh.

FJL. Yes, Will Eno was there.  I don’t know that you would call it previews.  It’s a limited run show just until the end of the month and last night was the first performance.

The theatre was about 2/3 full.

Will was saying that he was grateful about how many people came as apparently there were a lot of cancellations or no shows because of the virus scare

We three (my friend Maria, Will and I) about the possibility of this scare causing shows , especially ones just opening, to close due to fear of illness  keeping people away.

Today at The Highest Tide, Jim Lynch, the author of the original book, and the woman (I forget her name) who did this stage adaptation were there.  They participated in the talkback after today's show.  That was fun.  All of the actors (including the alternate Miles, the lead) stayed and talked, as well.

And there were gel sanitizer  dispensers and boxes of tissues strategically placed all around the lobby, near the snacks, the mailing list sign up, the book sale cart, etc.

Ditto here.

This may be too creepy to record, but since they keep saying this virus is nothing to worry about unless you;'re 60 or older - but I'm not 60 until May, so I guess I;m safe fo two months.

Tune of “Lotta Love”

It’s gonna take a lotta gloves
To keep us safe from fear
It’s gonna take a lotta gloves
But one thing’s really clear.

Though you may find this surprising
And think this can’t be so:
If you need sanitizing
Supplies are low.

It’s gonna take a lotta gloves
To get us through a plague
It’s gonna take a lotta gloves
So let’s not be too vague.

That if you’ve been out there dawdlin’
And don’t even have Purell
Now I hope this isn’t maudlin
But it’s been swell.

Gotta lotta gloves.
Gotta lotta gloves…

:))

I did have to look up "Lotta Love" on YouTube, but as soon as it started playing, I recognized it.

Well, all 4 hours and 40 minutes of the movie is over. I'm going to hold off on the extras disc (who knows how many hours there are on that) until tomorrow.

Book page will be live this evening.  Even the shipping had to go up a couple of buck and even at that I'll lose a buck or two because these can't go in a flat-rate envelope.

Up from a nap.

I expect you needed it.  Maybe you will now be caught up with the time change, including Daylight Saving.

I doubt it. I don't think I'll get enough sleep tonight. I can just feel it.

I never feel like I get enough sleep when DST begins. :P
