Well, you've read the notes, the notes were simple and live, and now it is time for you to post until the simple cows come home.

It's called Pho, I think - it's on the corner of Vineland and Burbank Blvd.  Very good.

Well, it's time for me to go to sleep.  I'm not a morning person, so everything essentially being an hour early makes for a not so easy waking up...but I will wake up and get myself to work like any other day. ;)

Have a good day, all!

I just checked my calendar.  It's completely empty until Thursday, when I have my doctor's appointment and possible lunch with a friend.

The cats are strangely quiet this morning.  That's worrisome!

I have to do some shopping this morning and then go to Greencastle to pick up my perusal copy of ANYTHING GOES.

I shall also drop off a few scripts to the chairperson of the Program Committee to read for consideration for the 2021 season, if we are not all quarantined by then.

The KC is over.  I need to take the recyclables to the basement, dump the dirty litter, and pick up Saturday's mail.  I hope my new can opener waits in the lobby.

Of course I know the answer to that. It's because for most people, a typical Sunday is generally not as challenging a day as most Mondays.

Mondays are merciless.

Which leads me back to my standard musing of:  Why in the name of all that's holy, and some that isn't, don't "they" put the time change on Friday night instead of Saturday, thereby giving the populace TWO days in which to adjust before the Monday slam?

Someone has told me that when the time changes were implemented, people were still working a six-day work week.

So even if that's how it began, how many damn DECADES does it take to rethink it? (Answer: They don't think about it at all.)

Nice picture in the notes. Makes me think how long it's been since I've been to a book fair of any kind. That will have to be rectified one of these days.

So what's on my agenda for the day?

Besides taking the trash and recycling down to the road this afternoon, I must needs spend time getting The Drowsy Chaperone into my ears, and then my fingers. It looks like the keyboard book is going to be slow in getting to me, so I'll have to learn it the best I can from this piano-vocal score that fell off the back of a truck. It's the only thing I could find out there on the big bad internet. That, and the cast album CD and a few complete videos on YouTube, shall be my guides.

I know I'm out of sync with the rest of the world when it comes to Altman:

IMAGES
THE LONG GOODBYE
SECRET HONOR
TANNER '88
SHORT CUTS
THE PLAYER
PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION

I was fine with MASH back in the day but it doesn't really hold my interest much anymore. I know NASHVILLE is the big thing, but oddly enough I've never sat down and really paid attention and watched it straight through enough to appreciate it. And I don't believe I've ever seen McCABE & MRS. MILLER. Or even 3 WOMEN.

DR Elmore, I'm sorry you haven't found the can opener. I hate when that happens, and I know whereof I speak.

It sounds silly, but when I've had a kitchen utensil or other such item for years (assuming it's something that's always worked for me as opposed to being a pain in the ASS), I grow attached to it and absolutely hate it when it goes missing. I actually take some pride in kitchen items I got for my apartments in the '70s and '80s. And yes, a few such things were given to me by my parents back then. So, it's a sentimental thing, but also a quality thing when it's something you picked out as being best for you at the time.....and still is.
