Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not very interesting, and now it is time for you to post until the not very interesting cows come home.

Well, I've been trying to change some of the settings in my recording program and so far, I haven't found anything that's helped. :-\ I can only hope that Larry will know what to do.  I still have quite a few programs that I want to put on Blu-ray!

And on that note (B-flat), I'm off to bed.

Have a good day, all!

The alarm rang at 6:15 and only the cats were excited about it.  It took mne another 9 minutes to get out of bed, although Stella did her damnedest to make me move.

This is another quiet day.  At 1:00 I'm on a conference call with animal activist Andrew Weprin and others to urge New York legislature to pass CAPA.

Another musical version of Some Like It Hot? WTF?  I never cared much about Sugar, although I like a lot of the score.

What really good musicals have been adapted from brilliant films?

T.O.D.

Too many favorite Robinson/Raft movies to mention.

I had the pleasure of meeting Robinson, and I lunched a couple of times with Raft.

Forgive me, Bruce, but this is a perfect opportunity to plug my play, ROBINSON & RAFT.

I am positive I saw Sugar at the Dorothy Chandler in L.A., but I don't find a program here and I remember little of it.

I do recall that it was when I'd recently begun wearing contact lenses. I loved them, but my eyes were very dry that evening and it distracted me from enjoyment of the show. But I also remember not being real excited about the show. Very thankful for BK's CD, though.

Well, things are getting real here. Or should I say "real"?

Got word late last night that the Willy Wonka musical and all other spring events at this high school (including all concerts and assemblies and I believe some sporting events) are officially CANCELLED.

This is devastating -- for the school, the students, and the extra hired personnel like yrs truly. Everyone involved is in shock at the moment. But it's particularly scary as it could so easily be the start of a statewide domino effect.

DR Chas I am sorry the after school activities, and your job, were cancelled.  Unfortunately people can't be trusted to stay home.  Yesterday  I read the news story about the father & daughter, who were in quarantine as the older sister was tested for COVID-19, that went to the school father -daughter dance.

While at the dance they received news the sister tested positive and went home, after much damage was done.

Scary times.

We have a cruise booked for late this year.

Thankfully, we have until September to cancel without penalty.

Hopefully, this will all be a memory by then.

We have friends on two different cruises.  I am tracking them, especially the Princess ship returning from Hawaii.  They said extra precautions are being taken on the ship.  It sounds like what they have done on cruises where there were a number of cases of the norovirus.

We cancelled two cruises to spend more time with our granddaughter.  Now I wonder when I will be able to hold her.

The 1:00 phone call didn't happen until 2:00, but I hope it does some good with pushing transparency at the New York Animal Care Centers.  There are too many silent kills, and too many adoptable dogs are put down.  No adoptable puppy between 4 months old to a year should be euthanized ever.

Smiles of a Summer Night/A Little Night Music

I'll accept that, but Smiles of A Summer Night is a foreign film in Swedish, as opposed to a popular American film.  I can't think of any successful popular movies in well-made musical adaptations, except maybe for Hairspray.  I think the Bergman adaptation, like Once, succeeds because it's not a slavish attempt to put the film on a stage with second-rate stage impersonations of the film's stars.
