I really like the musical version.

Today, I'm going to attempt to wake up at a more or less normal, regular time.  I also need to check in with my work to see if there's anything that I can/need to do.  I know we're not ordering anything, but there still might be other things that I can do.  I also really need to go through my e-mails.  I started on Friday and worked on them for about three hours :o but I still have a ways to go.

I was sorry to read in a Castrecl email this morning that Twilight Time is shutting down.  There are several titles I'd like to get while they are still available, but I have no money at the moment.

Beyond working on my orchestration, I have no plans for the day.

I had one really strange dream I vaguely remember now.  Former DR Joey was in New York and he was going on a trip to Israel.  He was looking for books on Roman antiquities in Israel, and I rook him to the NY Public Library, only the room we went into was the reading room of the Miami University Library.  We found books on the country Israel, but nothing on the Roman occupation.

Then we ran around midtown NYC to check out travel agencies to see if theu had anything.

Jerry Stiller has died.  I ran into Anne Meara several times when I worked at Barnes & Noble, but I only met Jerry once, years ago, as I waited on 48th Street and Eighth Avenue for the 104 bus.  I loved him on Seinfeld.

I received an email yesterday that the wonderful boutique Blu-ray Twilight Time Movies started by Bruce’s late pal Nick Redman is closing down. They are having a sale on their stock

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Stiller in October, 2013, in the lobby of Symphony Space.
He was charming and very funny.

Regarding George’s post last night, I was fortunate to see Robert Yacko in the lead role in “Sunday In The Park with George” in Long Beach in October, 1986.
He was fabulous!

In 1990, I returned to Long Beach to see the musical “Chess”.
Robert Yacko was wonderful as Anatoly.
Jodi Benson was Florence, and I believe Ann Morrison was Svetlana.

T.O.D.

I've never really been a gambler.

Played a little Blackjack in Las Vegas and the slots, but nothing serious.

If I "gamble," then I gamble on myself.  Not cards or dice.

Elmore, I also loved Jerry Stiller on Seinfeld, especially the Festivus episode!

We watched THE SEVEN FACES OF DR. LAO last night.

Two friends, Barbara Eden and the late John Ericson, were in it.

I hadn't seen it since the mid-1960s when it was first released.  Enjoyed it...except for the stupid stuff with the dragon at the end.

Tony Randall was excellent.

I like to play euchre - but I don't like poker.  I have been involved in a couple of games that were not worth the trouble.

The only REAL game of chance I like is 21.....which I play sometimes with family and friends....

Two (count ‘em) classic dreams — one at 5:15 am when I woke up for a brief bathroom trip, and another before getting up at 7:30.

The first was yet another former workplace dream which, this time, was clearly about things I have to face and get done over the next couple of days. (Ugh.) The second was a theater one in which the show in question somehow morphed from being A Year With Frog and Toad to Phantom of the Opera.

Lord.

Some mornings it’s just as well to be awake.

The only NYC street gambling scam I was around to see, in 1989 and probably for a couple of years following, was the three cups thing.

I specifically remember watching it around Broadway and 4th Street, or somewhere in that area near Tower Records. Seeing it for the first time, I was as fascinated as anyone, and though I fortunately never felt suckered into playing, I watched as closely as I could, convinced that I, DR ChasSmith, should be able to follow and keep track of the damned thing. And of course I couldn’t.

I just spoke with Suad about the food delivery, and we are going to cancel it now and pick it up again once the surgery dates are definitely set.
