There are those who are expecting people to rush out to restaurants, stores, beaches once they reopen, but I question that. Some will, of course. In Australia people jammed the malls the day they reopened, but I think that many people will still feel cautious. I wouldn't feel safe eating in a restaurant yet or being in any crowds.

I read that Denmark, which closed early and did a good job of getting the virus under control, has reopened.  People there have been well behaved all along and are not rushing out in crowds setting an example of how to reopen gently.

Pretty sure I issued that on CD at Varese Sarabande.

I was wondering.

I do have some good news: the unemployment has landed, and I have a nice sum sitting in my bank account.  I can afford Thatch's echocardiogram and dental work now.

That's great, Larry!

I just decided I'd had it. I went into System Preferences and did the following:

Unchecked "correct spelling automatically".  (You can underscore questionable words, but I'll do the correcting if need be.)
Unchecked "capitalize words automatically".  (My writing/posting life simply has too many exceptions to allow this.)
Unchecked "add period with double-space".  (Same. I couldn't even type a parenthetical sentence without getting this.). <--

My life has improved immeasurably!

Well, I don't know if I should go that far, but I think we should pause in silence to commemorate this historic moment.

It's about time, ChasSmith!  I may make typos, but at least they're MY typos! ;)

My dentist reopened his office yesterday. Yay! I was scheduled for a cleaning and looking forward to it when Covid hit and he closed. The hygienist I see there is excellent, but books up months in advance. I was very pleased to get an appointment with her for yesterday. I'm sure many people are nervous about returning, but this office has always had the highest standards.

Yesterday, I went into work for a couple of hours, and saw on my calendar that my next dental appointment is June 16th, which is also my mother's birthday...not that that matters, but it's easy to remember.  I haven't heard that it's been cancelled, so I'm going to assume that it's still on until I hear that it's not.

Well, I need to take a shower and get my burger at Red Wagon (while safely socially distant).  They have a stamp card and every visit gets a stamp, but on Tuesdays, you get two stamps!  When the card is filled up, you get free fries and small drink.  And I have a filled card, so I'll be getting the fries and drink!

Be back later.

Ours is June 24th.  Hopefully it won't change.

I can't use my right arm very well this evening.  The problem is related to my damaged shoulder.  I will pop in a few times.  If I post at all it will be short.

I ended up listening to The Three Musketeers while working a crossword puzzle. It's a really sorry excuse of a show, but Kate Baldwin is her usual amazing self as Milady DeWinter.

Too bad she wasn't given anything to do. Her big solo is as dreadful as the rest of the show.

The score for this mess is by George Stiles, who wrote the forgettable songs added to Mary Poppins.

We are now grumpy.  Shopping is not fun these days.

Is it not possible for you to order and pick up your groceries?

Same. I cannot imagine going to a mall or a restaurant anytime soon.  Although stores not in malls are supposed to open in a week. And I suspect a lot of people will go.

I would go to friends, if we sat outside distancing.  I know people who eat together and use paper plates to be safe.

Thanks. At this office they are wearing face shields over their masks, plus disposable gowns that are discarded after each patient. They've made a number of other changes also.

The hygienist told me that her 82-year-old mother and nephew, who both live in Ecuador, came to visit for two weeks. Then Covid hit and the airport in Ecuador was closed. Her mother and nephew can't go home until the end of May. From two weeks to almost three months!
