Dr Aronoff called me about an hour ago.  He thinks I will be released on Thursday, Not Wednesday as I had hoped.  He's decided that rather than make this surgery an appendectomy/tumor removal/possible colon repair if there's any cancerous damage to focus on appendix and tumor and, if needed, the repair in another surgery.  I have so much to look forward to!

Oh my.

MEGA VIBES A SECOND SURGERY WILL NOT BE NEEDED!

Haircut in forty-five minutes.

My neighbor Judy has a friend whose cat just died and the friend is blaming it on Fancy Fest cat food.  Since I feed my cats Fancy Feast, she's not dealing well  today.  She sent me this warning:
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/fancy-feast.html?#sort=recent&filter=1

So, I emailed Dr Mohr about this, and she said she's heard nothing.  I think I'll start looking at other cat foods when my Fancy Feast supply gets low.

I don't know that the food actually killed the cat, however, I have never been a fan of the quality of Fancy Feast and pretty much avoided it.

Missy Annabelle is particularly frisky this afternoon.  I received three shipments today, two from Amazon and one from Chewy, which was a lot of cat food.  I unpacked everything in the hall and when I carried the first load of contents into the apartment, she darted into the hall.  I figured, fine, I've got enough to deal with at the moment.  She didn't go running to the fourth floor, just ran around the third, sniffing doors, checking out Judy's shopping cart while I carried things into the apartment.  When she got bored, she came in with me.

Now that I've fed them, Thatch and Stella are eating, but Annabelle plays coy until I pick her up and carry her to her bowl.  Then she behaves as if she hadn't eaten in years.

I just read this article from American Cinematographer on
The Dramatic Photography of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

that made me want to watch the film again. Like, real soon.

Which wouldn't be a bad idea since I haven't watched it since way before the Warner Archives Blu-ray was released. The article and included images are wonderful. The photo of the books in the living room makes me want to know what each one was, especially since they very carefully hand-picked each book. But that's just one aspect of an amazing set.

I think BK said the film's score by Alex North is a bit of a letdown, and my vague recollection tells me I probably agree with that assessment.

I like the Alex North score a lot - especially the theme - I hate the soundtrack album because it has dialogue.  But the North score doesn't serve the film that well - its beauty makes everything seem melancholy and some of the humor goes missing because of it.  But it's beautiful music.

I know they released a 2-LP set of the entire soundtrack, plus the standard one. Are you saying the standard one still retained bits of dialogue?

A few other soundtrack recordings have done that, though the examples don't come to mind right now. Regardless of what they leave in, it usually sounds strange -- and of course it defeats the purpose of a music album in the first place.

This morning rain was expected at 11:00 prompting us to be home from our walk before then.  As we returned just before 11:00 the sun came out.

Fortunately we were still under an awning.  We are waiting for the rain to ease up a bit before heading out.

Last night on TCM after the showing of FLOWER DRUM SONG, Mr Dave Karger asked Miss Nancy Kwan how she felt about her singing being dubbed by B.J. Baker......

Kwan demurred a bit about being a singer herself and then finally said that she asked producer about it and that "Ross said I was going to be dubbed and that was that.....and I figured, well it would only make me look better so......"

I thought I had struck gold finding a ginger cookie at the bottom of the freezer.

I let it partially thaw, just enough to break off a piece and, with great anticipation, popped it into my mouth.

I almost started crying my disappointment was that great.  It was not a ginger cookie but an old frozen fake meat burger.

I had a nice dinner, and all I want to do is lie down and nap.  I have to wash the kitty dishes and I just don't have the energy.  Annabelle is acting up.  She's either bored or wanting her treat early.

After the haircut, I spent two hours doing the same thing I did for two hours yesterday, just to have an option.  We'll see which option is better.

I'd already put in my cart the Cheesecake Factor dinner treat for tonight, but by the time I went to place the order at four it was too late - they close at four-thirty.  I really wanted that, too.  So, I defaulted to my favorite pasta at Stanley's - that should be here shortly.
