Well, you've read the notes, the notes had three faces of BK, and now it is time for you to post until the multiple personality cows come home.

I hope the peaceful protesters in Portland  & Seattle left before the rioters took over.

I love the latest Broadway production.  Still, it wasn’t as good as the production I directed and also played Mr. Maraczek.

Did you ever find your video? Would still love to see that.

It’s hard for even me to believe, but I have never seen The Three Faces of Eve. Worse, I used to confuse the title with All About Eve which I know and love.

I am home from the Covid-19 test (painful) and bank.  I did not get to the post office.  I was the first one at the clinic, so I was out in no time.

I've left Suad two messages about unemployment.  She's usually good about returning calls, so I hope she is okay.

I think the prisoners at Alcatraz used to be vaccinated against ESCAPISM.

TOD:

Best supporting actress 1953:
Thelma Ritter in PickUp on South Street instead of Donna Reed in From Here to Eternity [although I liked Donna a lot]

1955:

Best Supporting Actor:  Sal Mineo for Rebel Without a Cause instead of Jack Lemmon in Mr. Roberts

Best Actress: Jennifer Jones in Love Is a Many Splendored Thing instead of Anna Magnani in The Rose Tattoo

I'll stop after these examples.....

So many

Cher for Mask or Mia Farrow for Purple Rose of Cairo over Geraldine Page in Trip to Bountiful
Humphrey Bogart for Casablanca over Paul Lukas for Watch on the Rhine
Barbara Stanwyck for Double Indemnity over Ingrid Bergman in Gaslight
Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story or Joan Fontaine in Rebecca over Ginger Rogers in Kitty Foyle

In 2001, when Ian Mackellan recorded Babes In Toyland at Abby Road with Ian Richardson, I told him when I met him "You were robbed of that Academy Award for Gods and Monsters."  I also got to tell Richardson how wonderful he was in that 1976 revival of My Fair Lady.

The two Ians were a complete hoot.  After one of their takes of the dialogue between Toymaker and Barnaby, one of them said to John McGlinn, who was pushing them to be melodramatically over the top, "Was that take too much?  After another, we'll be reduced to doing pantomime."

Sometimes the Academy gives an Oscar for the performer's cumulative work (e.g. Geraldine Page).

I also think the Academy, especially in the 40s, did not want to award women for playing evil roles, so Bergman's long-suffering wife wins out over Stanwyck.
