Nothing at all. They're all banking on the performance societies turning a blind eye, which they are. Most of these things are couched as benefits and that's one reason it's okay. And the at home concerts are at home. I think everyone knows this will not be going on much longer.

In other news, we had a calmer day yesterday, and today was even calmer due, I think, to the fact that the other officers were charged, which is what everyone wanted. But on Facebook it's almost like the people there WANT this to continue - it gives them something to post about, and they actually stoke it like a fire. I do not understand this. If everyone would just shut for ten minutes, things would calm down - no one wants more looting and fires and small businesses being harmed beyond repair - we've just come off eleven weeks of people having to watch their businesses go to hell, and we've now had six or seven days or protests and we need some healing time and calm. And the most amazing thing is there has not been a peep about Covid or pandemic in a week - like it didn't exist, like it's okay for thousands of people to go be an inch apart, most not wearing masks. If that's all good, just open up everything. If it's not good, something's gotta give somewhere.

I think if the four officers had all been arrested and charged immediately there would not have been this nationwide, hell, worldwide series of protests. But now there have been so many other instances of videoed brutality that I am afraid the protests will continue for some time.

I have a friend who lives in downtown LA. He posted some calm photos of his neighborhood he took today. Around 8:00 he messaged me the fake protesters were arriving and yelling F.U.

The reason that I'm going to participate in the Zoom meeting from home is because my current desktop computer at work doesn't have a camera, and even though my laptop will become my new work computer, I think a couple of people who work in my area will be at their desks tomorrow, but they won't be part of the Zoom meeting, and I don't want to disturb them.

After canvassing the cast, the show will go on on Sunday. I feel strongly about it - that those who are not up to watching it can watch it in a week or two, but that some could use an eighty-minute bit of respite and I also feel the show has several songs of hope, which I think is important. I also feel that music is a healing art. I also feel that people shouldn't dictate to others what they should and shouldn't do in terms of getting through the day and trying to bring a little sunshine in the room, albeit even briefly. We'll just do the show - we're not going to make a big deal about it or push it too much - I'll just eBlast to the people who I know will appreciate it, I would hope you dear readers will appreciate it, and that's that. And hopefully things will be a bit calmer by Sunday.
