I wanted to stay one more day in hospital, but Judy had me so alarmed on Tuesday night, I needed to be home yesterday, so I did not fight the doctors about staying longer. Before I left, she started pestering me about Joshie's number in case she needed to reach me, what the hospital numbers were. My attitude was that she had a credit card on file for any vet issues, so what could go wrong. The cell phone calls began on Tuesday morning. "The cats and I played twice yesaterday." Then at 6:30 as my phone was losing energy and I had no idea where my bag and charger were, she called in as panic "I can't get the bottom lock to work and I cannot get in the apartment!" I called back and said, go out your emergency window to the fire escape and climb in my window.
"Oh, no, I'm too scared, and Mark can't do it." So I suggested one of the other neighvors on another floor. I used to climb in regularly when I locked myself out. I called back and left a message saying call a locksmith; I'll pay you back. About an hour later, she called back to say Randy, our neighbor above her and Mark, climbed down and opened the door. I didn't meed any of this crap. Yesterday morning, there was a message, Annabelle's got the sniffles and I called the vet but I can't take her today; we have to deal with Mark's Social Security and our savings.
I just wanted to get home and make certain the cats were okay.
