I'm back. ::) Last night, I started to watch the Stratford Festival's The Tempest, became thoroughly engrossed in it, then about halfway through, I fell asleep.  I guess I really needed the sleep.  And now, I'm awake.

This Stratford Festival version has Martha Henry playing Propsera.  Theater Artists Olympia did it back in 2008, also with a Prospera, played by my friend pug.  It was set in the future, stylistically very reminiscent of Star Trek...very reminiscent, if you know what I mean. ;)

I ran sound for a production at Olympia Little Theatre about six years ago, set in the world of The Wizard of Oz.  That was fun.  They had a male Prospero, but a couple of other characters were played by women.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning.  I slept poorly, and I feel quite poorly.

Thanks to my unplanned and too-long nap yesterday evening, I got a second wind going which resulted in my staying up too late. That, in turn, resulted in my sleeping in only slightly later than usual this morning, and now I feel like the proverbial truck ran over me.

That last post was but a pathetic cry for help. There is no danish or anything similar in the house.

One nice thing that happened last night is that the humidity broke and the temperature lowered just enough and a nice breeze picked up, making it absolutely perfect for sleep. The breeze continues, and today’s high is to be around 75. Likewise, more or less, tomorrow. I hope to make good use of this by getting some things done outdoors.

Speaking of having a danish propelled me back into my years of living in Hollywood or Beverly
Hills or West L.A. or Redondo Beach, when I would make it a point to prepare in advance for weekend breakfast treats. I’d buy things like the good Van de Kamp’s cinnamon rolls at Hughes Markets or the $1 bag of donuts at Stan’s as they were closing up for the night, and have freshly ground coffee ready to brew in my French press...all to be accompanied by the L.A. Sunday Times (also $1) likewise picked up late Saturday night at one of the newsstands.

I want to go back to that world.

Looking forward to the show tonight. It goes without saying that I don’t love the reason for it, but it’s so nice being able to see a modified Kritzerland as opposed to no Kritzerland.  :)

I went back to bed for another two hours or so and dreamed of Victor Herbert and Shakespeare's The Tempest.  Annabelle and Thatch curled up with me, and I drifted in and out of consciousness.

It's very chilly in the apartment this morning, and I may return to bed and stay there most of the day.

My last bath was a week ago, so I need to take a sitzbath, shave, and wash my hair.  I can't put much water into the tub because I do not want to get the incisions wet. That will be a late afternoon project after the cats are fed.

Sometimes I take my suits out of the closet and reverse the way the pants are hanging so they don't have so many CROESUS in them.

On my way in a bit to a meeting......we shall see what happens.

It will be nice to see everyone again.....wearing masks, I hope, as I will be.

And of course a nice drive.....while I am out, I will also fill the car with petrol and perhaps buy a lottery ticket.
