Well, you've read the notes, the notes had context, and now it is time for you to post until the contextual cows come home.

Another movie that is vilified now is Disney's Song of the South.  I'm sure that it's complete revisionist history, but it wasn't supposed to be an accurate representation of the Reconstruction era.  It's a story about a boy and his experiences with a black storyteller who tells his stories.  I actually bought a UK PAL VHS tape about 20 years ago and was able to have it converted to a US NTSC VHS tape, and I made a DVD of that.  It looks pretty good for all the converting that was done.  But recently, someone was (someones were?) able to create a Blu-ray quality version that anyone can download here:

https://archive.org/details/SongOfTheSouthHD/

You can watch it online, but the downloadable MATROSKA file (under the DOWNLOAD OPTIONS) is 22 GB and looks incredible.  If you click on the SHOW ALL under the DOWNLOAD OPTIONS, there are more options.

If other movies like Gone With the Wind and The Birth of a Nation, especially, are also so horrible, why are they continuously being re-released and watched?  People are able to put those into historical perspective...why not Song of the South?

I could be wrong, but I'm of the opinion that roo many "woke" people are simply dumber than a box rocks.  It took a lot of people I once considered sane, if not intelligent, to fuck up that last PC-Carousel revival.

I had a pretty good night of sleep, but I plan to spend most of the day lying down.

I have a ton of laundry to do, and I hope I can do it all over the weekend.

Kitty cleanup is over and the cats have fresh litter, the bed is made, and I am on my second cuppa coffee.

I've been debating laundry, but I think I just may wait until tomorrow morning.  I'm sure I have at least 3-4 loads.

I don't think I ever heard of Made in Paris.

I must say, BK sure is taking a few for the team lately.  :)

I finally got to start the book yesterday and I'll have it finished before the weekend is up. Hell, if I didn't have things I need to do, I'd plow through the rest of it today. It's really engaging.

BK, what do they call the surface or texture of this hardcover binding? I always remove the dust jacket to protect it while reading a book, so I'm ultra-aware of its uniquely luxurious "feel". It's not something I've paid a lot of attention to in books, but I like this one.

Last night, we watched TAKE HER, SHE'S MINE with Jimmy Stewart, Sandra Dee and my late lady friend, Charla Doherty.

Fun movie, but it made me sad.

Well Ann-Margret certainly owes a lot of her movie career to her ATTRACTANCY.

Well the set is done for the shoot tomorrow.....I'm trying to figure out how to post a photo here.

I don't want to put it on BookFace yet.

It still needs to be dressed, but I will do that before shooting tomorrow.

We are going to do SIX interviews tomorrow.....we shall see how it goes.

I have no idea what I will watch this weekend. Maybe Jean Renoir’s Can-Can.

I hate the Woke Culture that has been exacerbated, embraced, and emboldened by social media....which is as awful as it is helpful.

It has also led to Cancel Culture which is horrible.

I do NOT have to convince people to support my opinions in order to make my opinions valid to me - if YOUR opinion is not the same as mine, we'll be okay.  We can talk about something else.

It is not my goal in life to change someone's mind about anything they think is so! Contrary opinions don't have to make people so contrary.
