Today I had to stop by my acupuncturist's office to pick up some herbs, then went to the bagel bakery for a bagel sandwich and some loose bagels. I do love bagels and could make a real pig of myself quite easily.

TOD:

I've been revisiting HUSTLE, the British TV show about con artists. It holds up well.

I'd enjoyed Munch's Beethoven okay, but these Toscanini performances are really other worldly.  This is the first time I've ever liked the ninth.  His tempos are amazing and it almost sounds like brand new music to my ears that I've not heard before.

And this 84-CD 1-DVD set originally retailed for $125.  That's pretty amazing.  Prices now range from over 200 for sets with a beat up box and which will cost twenty to thirty bucks to ship, all the way to up 2K.  These box sets are pressed once and that's it.  I would like to have had the Reiner set but that's gone through the roof.

DR George I look forward to the photo once your gift is ready.  It should be very nice.

Thanks, Jane.  I think it will be.

For me, the shield is ridiculous and my opinion won't be changing.  It's not going to protect the eyes because the bottom and sides are open, but if it makes millions for whichever enterprising company is making them, then that's nice.  I will always have issues with anything covering my face, nose, or mouth.

;D

I am very grateful that Bryan wears them, but as I said he is spattered with gross body bits.

Sometimes when the frame is too big, I use the reverse side of the poster page - it is usually white.  Then I can attach the photo or poster to the middle of it while it's on a flat surface and when it's put in the frame - it's centered and nice.  :D

Sometimes I use some wrapping paper or even newspaper if that's appropriate to make a kind of backing.  I have even used aluminum foil which ended up looking very interesting.....

Thanks, Jrand.  Using the back of the poster page is exactly what I was planning on doing.  None of the wrapping paper that I have would be appropriate, so a white matted background, it is.  Foil would be interesting, but I don't have a roll.  I have the pop-up sheets because when I bought them, they were noticeably cheaper than the roll...at that time.  I'll see if I have anything else that might work, too.

And now, I'm off to my parents' house for some card playing and snack grazing.

Be back later.

I didn't, however, get two titles I wanted today, Show Boat and War of the Worlds. No surprise, really, especially with the latter which was just released and "everyone" wants it.

That's okay, I can order them, or I'll get back to one of the stores before the sale's over.

What did you get?

Nice picture, JRand. Reminds of that great Kiki and Herb Christmas song: Like a snowman, dancing naked in the snow ...

I'm watching the Winona Ryder version of Little Women. I think I enjoyed it more before. This time through, I'm not buying some of the performances. Eric Stolz is really bad, Christian Bale is too mannered, Susan Sarandon is too noble. I do like Mary Wickes as Aunt March.

Sorry, I got waylaid (as usual) in You Tube.  I loved the song tonight.  I would like to hear it done as a  duet.  Perhaps you and ——————?

I guess I am going to have to break down and call my sister.  She was supposed to call me last Thursday or Friday.  No such luck.  I am afraid she is drinking again.
