No surprise, really, especially with the latter which was just released and "everyone" wants it.That's okay, I can order them, or I'll get back to one of the stores before the sale's over. What did you get?Klute, Blue Velvet, and Do the Right Thing - all looking and sounding magnificent.

I guess I am going to have to break down and call my sister. She was supposed to call me last Thursday or Friday. No such luck. I am afraid she is drinking again.
I won’t judge. I’ll just harp instead.
Hello
Just made the mistake of learning that Postmates will deliver to my door Roscoe's chicken and waffles. Oh, dear.
Whoops! I forgot to fill in the blank. I was thinking perhaps a duet with Bruce and Sandy Bainum or perhaps Haley Mills!!
Stay strong.

That's always been something I liked going into the store for, because your B&N membership card would get you another 10% off. Unfortunately, I hear tell they've all but decimated the value of having that card, partly by no longer allowing the discount on pre-existing discounts of over 20% or 30% or something. And if that's the case, I won't be renewing my membership. They've diluted their "brand" to the point that their only distinction as what used to be a fine bookstore is that they still carry SOME books.A shame. I still prefer purchasing my eBooks from Barnes & Noble Nook vs Amazon Kindle. I have noticed lately my options have been greater on Amazon. Mostly due to the same few authors, still I worry about B & N going out of business.I went to the Westport store to grab a few goodies, and was happy to find that they ARE allowing the member discount as before. That's just in-store, not online -- I think they make up for that with free shipping (?). So all is well on that front.I haven't checked in the past week, but I don't know if the Barnes & Noble on the corner of Broadway is open or not. That was my first ever Barnes & Noble, and I believe it was in fact the first of the new stores in NYC back in the early 1990s. I had mail-ordered stuff from the original B&N on lower Fifth Avenue years before, but this was the coming of the new world in bookstores. The scandal then was that these new behemoth chain stores would cause the likes of Shakespeare & Co. to go out of business. Now they're in their own death throes. But what a thrill it was to wander through that Broadway store back in the day. Did that one ever expand into carrying music and movies? I think my first B&N that had that department was the one on Sixth Ave. in the twenties.
