We had Blaze Pizza for dinner. I had never tried the chain before. They had a cauliflower crust fir me. I had Italian meatballs, roasted garlic and red peppers while Mom had a regular crust with pineapple and smoked ham. It was perfectly acceptable.

I have only seen cauliflower crust once and enjoyed it very much.

Today, I'm going back to my parents' to have dinner with the family.  We're having a 4-cheese lasagna...it's store-bought, but still good. :) And now, to bed.

Have a good day, all!

Well, I was wrong about the lasagna...it was a FIVE-cheese lasagna!

Carol Lynley  was a dear friend.

She wanted to do my one-woman play, (Carole) LOMBARD, and she even did a staged reading of it one Saturday afternoon at a 99 seat theater in Hollywood.  Full house.

Unfortunately, after the reading, we were informed that this was a "pay-for-play" theater, so an actual production never happened.

LOMBARD did get a regular production a couple years later, but Carol was not available.

In fact, LOMBARD has now been successfully produced in theaters all over the country.

I spoke to Carol a couple months before she passed away.

Nice lady.

Great story, Druxy.  That's too bad about her not being able to do your show.

I have never seen Blue Denim on stage or screen. It sounds good. I mean, the original play. I'm sorry to hear they rather botched the transition to screen. Not that that's ever been anything unusual, especially in those days.

Definitely love Carol Lynley, though.

I saw some of the movie not too long before TCM became part of a new Comcast Sports and Entertainment package last year.

I don't have TCM anymore because I didn't want to pay another $10 a month essentially to just get that one channel.

In the years we've had a Five Guys nearby, I have both greatly enjoyed and been disappointed in their offerings. They're quite expensive for a burger joint, and that keeps them open to more criticism than they might otherwise receive. And I think that's a problem. They seem to be competing with the likes of Shake Shack -- also expensive, but they serve what I happily call a gourmet burger, what with their remarkable blend of beef and their care in cooking it to order. At least Five Guys gets it right when they say their burgers are well done but juicy.

I prefer to eat right there, when the goods are hot and fresh. What BK observes about the delivery service is what we experience here, even when we're ordering there and driving the stuff right home which is five minutes away. Both the burgers and the fries lose something in the journey.

The fries are a subject all their own, too. By the way, the spillover from the cup is normal. They overload it on purpose. When I'm really famished, I can put away every fry they give me, even in a large order. But they are generally on the soft side, no question. And I never order their or anyone else's "Cajun" or otherwise spicy fries. I'm one of the (apparent) few who find that kind of thing a complete distraction from what good french fries are supposed to be. It's a sore subject with me.

So, a love-hate relationship. We only think to eat from Five Guys once or twice a year, and these are the reasons why.

There's a Five Guys on the west side of Olympia.  It's been here a few years.

Their burgers and fries are pretty good, but they are expensive.

And the ambiance of the "restaurant" (store?) is not really conducive to talking with your eating companions (if any), or certainly reading anything.

I don't know about any other Five Guys, but this one is very loud and there are just a bunch of tables in the room and peanut shells everywhere.

You get free shelled peanuts when you eat there...if you care for that sort of thing.

It also seems I managed to catch sight of a clock every day for the past couple of weeks at exactly 8:16, sometime am, sometimes pm....

That's weird. :-\

I felt that CAROLINE OR CHANGE was kind of given the short straw, as far as the four musicals were shown.

DR George has Neve completely stopped sneezing?

Yes.  I haven't heard a single sneeze in just about a week. :)
