I have very few actual art books. I used to own some nice ones but I found I hardly ever opened them so they went to better homes. What few I have now tend to be more contemporary or commercially oriented, such as a few Disney books, the Ed Ruscha Hollywood Blvd. book, books of movie posters and album covers, that kind of thing.

As for art pieces themselves, I love the relatively minor but colorful Picasso exhibition lithograph I got at a live auction for something like $25 some years ago. It has a bit of water damage along its bottom edge which is not a distraction.

I especially treasure the three Harvey Schmidt pieces acquired from BK via Indiegogo campaigns.

A few signed movie posters and lobby cards are likewise treasured items.

Monday morning greetings! We're having very weird weather here in SW Ohio - cool, but humid. I have a quiet week ahead, with evening Zoom events for AAUW tonight and Thursday. They're having an in-person combined Holiday Bazaar/Garage Sale this weekend, but I'm not going to attend. My work contribution is to send out all their emails and do the social media publicity.

Back to Topaz for a moment:

I'd read about the lack of a theatrical cut in the past, and never followed up on it, so now I've done just that. The laserdisc release is the 2:07 running time, and I went to eBay and bought one. It's going to be one of the older and more primitive LDs: full screen (probably pan & scan), and no chapter stops except for alternate endings (but it looks like the US one is the default). So, no great viewing experience in store, except that I'll be able to see the theatrical cut.

Good Morning! I'm off work today, so I'm home working instead. I've decided to listen to a recording of The Pirates of Penzance - and not the Papp version. I was hoping to get some packing done yesterday - but I didn't. I after the Kritzerland event, I started watching "Cobra Kai" on Netflix and was totally hook and finished Season One before bed.

I'm hoping to get my week prepared for school, go on a bike ride a little after noon, and perhaps start some packing. I'm hoping the motivation will be there once I get started.

Well there you are.

Today I went to Dollar Tree looking for some fake mistletoe for a prop for my scene in A Christmas Carol.

I forgot to put on my mask. I was walking back out to get it when I saw Dawn the manager - that I've spoken to before. I told her I was going out to get my mask. She said: "That's okay.....you can keep shopping. Just don't say anything to me and let me get my work done."

Okay.....so now I am of two minds. Perhaps I shall never go into the store again.....OR I will go in every day this week. I am still contemplating.

I have a few art books. But most of my B I G books are about architecture....

However - at the Goodwill I found a book that is from the New York Graphic Society.....I guess they sold fine art reproductions.

The book is full of 4"x6" reproductions of famous paintings. Their prints were quite reasonably priced.....$2 - $18 or so.

My mom had both her knees replaced (at different times) and is glad that she had them done. The replacements don't last for forever, though. My friend Margo had one of her knees replaced, and can't wait to get the other one done.

Today (because I finally remembered to check on it) I learned that in CT my absentee ballot can be tracked.

That might be the case in most states, but ours is one that doesn't tell you that up front.

All I had to do was look up my voter registration. The resulting screen shows that, plus the date my application was processed and the date the ballot was received. YAY!!
