The training process was arduous, but now he knows: he's not allowed on the couch!

Another thing I seem to be indulging in this week:  grilled cheese sandwiches.

The American quesadilla!

Here's something I forgot to post a couple of days ago:

I watched my third Fellini film, Juliet of the Spirits. I'd never known what it was all about - which is fine, but I also hadn't even known that Guiletta was Fellini's wife. Interesting, and I shall have to see what I really think of it on a repeat viewing sometime.

His first use of color is nice. And do you want to know what looked really great against those colors? Beautiful, highly readable SUBTITLES. :)  It didn't even matter how fast the dialogue went in some places. The watching and comprehending were effortless, damn it, and that's the way life should be.

2 more loaves of Cheddar/Garlic Beer bread done and wrapped.  Small prime rib in the oven.  Gifts are tagged and bagged.

Is it really Christmas Eve?

Can I just say: I really, really love Christmas music. All of it. Let the gluttony begin!

It's freaking cold out there. The thermometer says 28 degrees, but it's very windy. So, I left my face mask on while walking. But ... But, it was a matter of seeing or staying warm. My glass would fog up instantly with the face mask on. So, I could take off the glasses and wear the mask or drop the mask and let my nose freeze over.

So, I tried Ina Garten's lemon garlic shrimp for lunch today. Very nice recipe, but I made too much pasta. So, there's a lot of leftovers, except for the shrimp.

I'm sorry to hear about Rebecca Luker. Condolences to all of you who knew her and loved her. I'm glad she is not suffering any longer.

They had to get tested for covid several times before this musical trip because they wanted to make sure everyone was safe.

DR John G., I love that you celebrate the radish holiday. Celebrating unusual holidays is one of my favorite things.

The ones I celebrate are so unusual because I make them up.

TOD: I celebrated Christmas Eve by making two trips to the grocery store -- one mile apart. I remembered a few things after I left the first store.

Laura, I love your new meow story.

And my favorite unusual holiday to celebrate has to be Don Cornelius’s birthday. Because, well, Soul Train.

TOD, continued:

Tonight's dinner is cheese and crackers. I made vegetable soup this afternoon to make up for the calories I am going to consume tonight.
Also tonight, I will put out the luminarias.

Tomorrow, we are not getting together, so I am going to make calzones. I'll drop one off at my daughter's house, along with some of the big salad.

I'm hoping if I eat a salad or soup as a meal each day, I will not do as much caloric damage.

They’ve been together a while, judging from their group photo, because Herman was a lot thinner a few years ago. All I know is that they went to the Smoky Mountains to practice. And that they did.
