Tony Bennett has Alzheimer’s. Sad.

I read that, too.  My dad LOVED Tony Bennett.  He (Tony) actually came to Olympia in the late 1990s (I think, maybe the early 2000s) and my sister and I got tickets to see him, and my dad was so happy!  Tony was one of the performers that my dad thought that he'd never ever get to see perform live.

Dave Brubeck was another performer that my dad LOVED.  He (Dave) came to Seattle and we got tickets for my dad, also.  He (my dad) loved both concerts and said that they were highlights of his life. :)

Back from the banking adventure. So, I tried the local branch of the bank where I have to cash my check - closed. So, I hustled over to the Studio City branch, which is where I should have gone in the first place and thankfully the line was pretty small, only four people. But - there was an elderly couple at the one teller who'd apparently been there for thirty minutes already, so we all had to wait another ten for them to finally finish. Once that happened, things moved pretty quickly, about ten more minutes. Then I walked to the BofA and there was no line out the door so I went in and found no line at the business window so I was in and out of there in three minutes. That was great. And now I'm home and entering fixes and will try to finish that before food.

Tom, I am glad you finally booked an appointment.  I hope you are very pleased with the doctor once you meet.

Dave lived 10-15 miles from me when I lived in Catskill. He kept a low profile, but actually did a lot of good in Palenville.

Wife goes to the eye doctor today, which means that I get out of the house, since I have to drive her.

Hope all went well.

Oh, no!  Dustin Diamond of 'Saved by the Bell' dies of cancer at 44:

Quote
"We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond’s passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma," the statement read. "He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful."

TOD - from Detroit I remember Sanders’ cream puff sundae.  They’d split a cream puff horizontally and sandwich vanilla ice cream inside, then slather the whole thing with the best hot fudge sauce.

But, when I moved to southern Ohio I discovered Graeter’s and, especially their turtle sundae.  They combine their hot fudge and caramel sauces and mix in toasted chopped pecans.  To make it really decadent, order it over chocolate chip ice cream.

As much as I love ice cream I pretty much had it plain.  A very special treat was a strawberry parfait which was basically vanilla ice cream with sweetened sliced strawberries marbled through it, whip cream on top, & maybe a cherry.  I rarely finished the whip cream.

I wanted to get my vaccine but my brother wanted to wait until his wife could.....she is 67.....  SO today was the day.

Then his boarder the Annoying One decided SHE wanted to get hers , too.   So I had to find a day when FOUR appointments were available within about the same time.

March 17......MARCH 17 - which is I suppose better than May 17.....

The most sinful extravagant ice cream treat were the coffee sundaes at Blum's.  After Susan Gordon introduced me to these I was hooked.  Coffee ice cream, butterscotch/caramel (can't remember which) sauce, maybe whip cream, and then topped with Blum's home made toffee crunch candies.  OMG these were good.

Why do you have to wait for them?  Your risk from covid might be higher.

After the general tidying up this morning, I lazed about with hte cats.  The court shows and soaps kept getting interrupted for storm news.  They're expecting Manhattan to get around 18 inches of snow.

I finally decided that a hot bath would be nice, and now I'm pondering dinner.  I think it's going to be soup, cheese and crackers, but I'm really craving a pizza and a mozzarella-tomato salad.

When we were vaccinated at the local hospital it was easy.  We parked in the garage & then walked across the enclosed bridge to the room to sign in.  The entire process took 30 minutes.

Last night neighbors went, parked in the garage and then had to stand out in the rain & cold to go through new security.  The entire process took 90 minutes.

Why the change?
