Thursday afternoon greetings!  We picked up groceries and a prescription at Kroger early this afternoon and I've been puttering at my desk for a while.

I'm very upset with Kroger over the way they're treating their employees. I'm glad they're not in San Antonio. I would have to boycott them.

Fred Meyer here seems ok now.  Initially we switched to Safeway which was much safer.  Almost every market we shop at, except Trader Joe's, there are mask rule breakers.  Since the pandemic we are shopping at other locations far more than we used to.

I prefer our local pharmacy section to others, and the store is walking distance if we want.

A question for DRs at large:

What do you feel comfortable with these days?
Indoor dining in a restaurant?
Outdoor dining at a restaurant?
Public transportation?
Crowded spaces? (theatre, concerts, etc)
Having cleaning help, plumbers, etc?
In cars with others?

None of the above. I made an eye-doctor's appointment today. I know they will have to do something involving touching my eyes (I refuse to do the air gun) and I am already dreading having to go.

I shouldn't have postponed my appointment but I just hate them touching my eyes right now.  I will book something in March.  I probably should get a second opinion of an ophthalmologist.

Saw a page for a Valentine's Day contest today. The main prize was travel, which, well, who in their right mind would want to win right now?

But the kicker was the tagline that said it was for you and "a loved one worth up to $5,000."

I don't know, if I would think my one true love would be worth much more than that.

Before the curtailing of indoor dining, the restaurants that I had gone to seemed to have sufficiently handled their indoor dining distancing.

After work tonight, I'm actually going to Trader Joe's with my sister.  I'd only gone once or twice last year, but they were very diligent about not letting in people without masks.

I never felt uncomfortable at my dentist's.  They've always been quite protected, even before last year, so I was never concerned about going there.

DR Matthew I hope you find someplace to get vaccinated.  I believe teachers should be vaccinated if they are back in the classroom.

Thanks, DR Jane!  We are all on watch duty and are keeping each other updated on opportunities to be vaccinated.  Not much is happening at the moment, though

My dermatologist was more worried about catching covid from me when I had to take my mask off.  I feel terrible for her that after 4 months since catching covid from a patient she is still sick.
