This is weird. When I go to the Tonight's the Night Indiegogo page, I only see it at 56%. I've refreshed and used other browsers, but for me, they all still show 56%. Regardless...

DR George, Betsy Joslyn has been married to my friend Mark Mitchell for several years now. She's one of my Facebook friends as well. I've known Mark since he and I worked on Pal Joey with Patti Lupone and Peter Gallagher for Encores! years ago.

I slept very well last night. Things did get rather uncomfortable when Annabelle buried under the blankets to get warm and I had her claws in my back and Stella plastered against my stomach. It's also got so chilly outside that for the first time all winter I opened the comforter sitting at the foot of the bed.

BK, I'm glad you are enjoying La Perichole, which is one of my favorite Offenbach scores. I could have warned you about Martha; Flotow and his confrere Lortzing are two of the post-Beethoven German opera composers who leave me cold. Thank God Johann Strauss and his operettas came along to liven up the German stage.

Speaking of Johann, I think you'd really like his Der Zigeunerbaron (The Gypsy Baron), set in 18th century Hungary and Vienna. Most recordings make cuts in the score to fit it to 2 CDs, but this recording is complete, with a conjectured reconstruction of the original Act Two Finale based on the new Johann Strauss Edition of the score.

Was up several times in the night, but NJ remains a sea of red (no appointments). My mom and her sister are 84 and 88 and living on their own. Surely it shouldn't be this hard to get them in.

I am worried about my unemployment, since I cannot file a claim, meaning there will be no money coming in this week. I'm primarily irritated and alarmed because the NY Dept of Labor has provided no info on the status of everything. There's also no sign of my $1400 Covid money either.

I just wish I knew what's going on rather than feeling left in limbo. I did finish kitty cleanup, so I will keep to my daily regime and try not to fret about the situation.

Checked this week's Met listings, and we have a 2009 Les Contes d’Hoffmann tonight. Anna Netrebko. Production by Bartlett Sher. I think I liked this one, but I'll probably watch it regardless. I'm in the mood.
